are you missing the love of your kin?

Hurt, anger, and confusion boiled in the snowy woman's heart as she listened to the midnight colored pack leader. She closed her eyes as he chided them, saying he wasn't going to act as a puppy sitter for grown adults. She understood what he meant by that. As he walked off, she caught the hate filled look her grey hued son gave her, and she sighed. She honestly felt she had always done her best by him, and his hatred and distaste towards her hurt deeply. She knew he would do as the dark leader said and show respect in pack situations, but if they were alone again...

Well, she doubted he would be civil or polite towards her. She watched as Noah began to follow Zalen toward the communal den. She knew she was expected to return to the den as well, and fell into line behind Zalen, but next to Noah. She refused to walk behind her son as if he were fully in the right, and she were fully in the wrong. Zalen had placed blame on both of them, and she understood what he'd meant by it.

After returning to the den, she laid down in a corner for a while. Her mind drifted lazily over the event of the morning, her body restless. After a while, she stood and left the den. She would run. That would ease her mind and relax her body. She'd run the borders, making certain no one was intruding on them, making sure they were well marked by the leaders. She knew they would be, of course, but it would relax her and settle her seething emotions.

The pale and scarred woman slipped into the morning light, slipping away from her hurt and anger, and back into the role of a obedient pack member.
