A Tangled Web We Weave

The dark-pelted luperci woman strolled through the forest, her feet crunching softly through the snow. Her once-short hair now touched her shoulders in a hiccup of loose curls, the lightness of it slowly fading and growing out to give way to her auburn tangles once more. A short huff of breath displaced the reddened bangs that hung over her bi-colored eyes, and she hugged herself in order to keep warm. She could very well be huddled up inside the manor back in Crimson Dreams territory right now, but a handful of choices - whether ill- or well-placed she had not yet decided - had landed her in the wilderness without a home once more, and she was yet again faced with the challenge that all wanderers knew too well. Food...that was the first thing, however, that was on her checklist of things to find. A home could wait.

Blind often found herself redirecting her thoughts, as they seemed to like to dwell on her spunky hybrid whom she had not seen in far too long. She hoped her well, of course, for the alternative was far too painful to think on for even a second. She ran her slender fingers through her mess of hair and sighed, wondering if she'd ever run into the dear girl again; their departure was far too abrupt the last time they met. Her nose tilted upward, as if hoping to catch her scent on the wind or even hear it whisper of the hybrid's whereabouts. But no such luck...she was left to wander another day in question.

The trees seemed to huddle together and then depart again in a breath of open space as the she-wolf trekked further and further. How long she had been wandering this day, she knew not. But her sore feet could tell her that it had been long enough. Taking a seat on a toppled tree trunk, she pushed around the snow below her toes and allowed her tired body to rest. She looked around, enjoying the general splendor of the forest, until her thoughts were disrupted by a smell carried on a breeze...Vesper? No, it was nothing more than a rabbit frittering about through the sparkling mounds of snow. She watched it carefully; the fluffy thing seemed to almost disappear among the whiteness, its own pelt nearly identical in color. Her tail flicked anxiously as she tried to keep from drooling; perhaps she was hungry after all. Nudging away from her perch, she concentrated on shortening her figure until she stood on all fours in lupus form, and then lowered to the ground to stalk the unsuspecting creature.
