Small moisture beads at the end of the twitching, black nose glinted in the day's half light. The sky was plagued with heavy gray clouds that threatened something between rain and snow; probably another painful hail that sent the young pack scrambling for cover. Titania thought of it as the Loud Snow, or the Rock Snow, for she didn't know the difference between the ice that fell from the sky and the flaky, soft powder, save for the fact that one could sting if you were caught within its beating. In the end, they both left sparkling white on the ground, and melted in the warmth of the noonday sun – when the clouds didn't block it as today, anyway.

Despite the looming weather the Alphess heeded the twinge in her gut that told her it was snack time. It was not yet time for her pack to hunt for another deer but that did not mean she had to deny herself a little treat. The fact that she had never been successful catching prey on her own was completely beside the point. And no matter, it was the determined that learned and grew, and if the silvery girl had anything going for her, it was her determination.

Most of the small game was hard to find in the dead of winter, but still they were there if you knew where to look. In the few short months since she had left d'Arte Titania learned fast. Even if she was not a successful trapper, she could at least sniff out a treat a mile away. Now she paced through the woodsy snow, nose to the ground despite the frigid temperature, testing for creatures beneath the crust. Her ears were pert, cupped toward the snow. Somewhere beneath her paws burrowed some critter, now it was only a matter of gauging how far down the animal tunneled...
