Things went pretty quickly suddenly; Trent was on the ground before he knew it, his head dizzy from the quick pull down, and he could feel her warm body on top of his, heart racing in his chest. For a moment he looked up at her, knowing that it was not right, and then he closed them again, leaning his head back against the cold ground, chin tilted up slightly and his lips parted as he felt her touch all over him. He knew that the moment of truth was drawing nearer then. He'd hoped for a different pose, because it felt rather strange to be on the ground and it was hard to pretend that he was with anything but a lady, but he was ready for it, waited helplessly on the ground for her to get on with it. There was no going back, now.
Completely unexpected, he felt her touches halt, and when she pulled away he was left on the ground alone. Grey eyes opened and stared at Terra as she apologised, although he felt like he should've been one to apologise. It wasn't so easy to just stop feeling the excitement run through his body, though, and Trent swallowed as he sat up so that he could pull his knees up to hide his most sensitive areas.
Trent wasn't sure whether he was relieved or frustrated that she had pulled away, and for a moment he just looked at her with a blank expression, having a hard time finding the emotions to go with the situation. It's okay.
He probably shouldn't have pursued her in this vulnerable state, and felt kind of guilty as he looked at her and, since she was hesitant now, kind of glad that she had pulled away in the end. Better to have regret now than after they would've done anything stupid. I guess it's just the crazy season, huh?
Trent forced a meek smile to his face, trying to say or do something that would make her, and perhaps himself too, feel a bit better. It would be foolish, anyway, to assume that she would want anything to do with him, that she'd really wanted him. They had both lost themselves a little, he figured, and he certainly didn't blame her. Maybe he was relieved, after all.
