Cerberus smiled weakly as Terra nudged further against him. It seemed as though she felt bad for growling and pulling away, but it really hadn’t bothered him that much. With a twitch of his pointed ears, Cerberus tucked his arm around the girl’s waist and gave her a quick hug before lying on his stomach, arms folded beneath his head again and eyes turned to her. He stayed close so as to reassure her that everything was okay, and his tail drifted over briefly to brush her knee before flopping back over to rest on his thighs. His eyes threatened to close as the sun warmed his back, but he nodded at her words to jerk himself awake. He chuckled softly at ‘shiny things,’ silently deciding that that was an endearing quality. He liked shiny things too; it was part of the reason why he’d always wanted piercings of one kind or another.
Her words came to a slow stop and Cerberus nudged his snout against her shoulder to assure her he was still awake. ”That’s cute,” he muttered, mismatched eyes hiding behind pale lids now. Cerberus was notorious for falling asleep wherever he lay, always interrupting a conversation with a snore or sleepy mutter. But he was determined to stay awake this time. He just hoped she didn’t think his drowsiness was a result of her being boring, because she absolutely wasn’t. Excitement itself resided in her jade eyes, and her lithe body was held together with a bright spirit. But Cerberus was…well, a man. Sleep came easy to him, especially after a meal. Tail flicking softly, Cerberus pushed his snout into the crook beneath Terra’s ear before he took his last waking breath…and then a tiny snore rumbled in his nostrils.
