OOC Feb 3

Terra rubbed happily against the large male that was walking with her. They had left the festival grounds together, wandering towards the woods. Occasionally laughter would drift from them. Terra darted ahead playfully, tail wagging as she teased him, pushing his want further and further. Terra had no intention of going through with this, having him a complete stranger to her, but anything that would calm the burning inside her even slightly was more than welcome. Eventually they came out to a calm stretch by the frozen lake. Terra rolled over, exposing her delicate cream belly to him. He nuzzled her before standing over top.

She didn't like being so clearly dominated though. Deciding that he'd taken things a step too far Terra snapped up at him. He rumbled a growl, stepping back slightly. Immediately soothed by his actions Terra rubbed against him again. It was maddening to him, this dance that had no rhythm. Patience at his limit he growled, trying to mount her, force her to accept her place. Terra yelped in anger, snapping across his face. He didn't accept that though. Shaken loose he growled, holding himself dominantly before stepping forwards to mount her again. The smaller hybrid crouched low to the ground, growling. Her game had suddenly grown a lot more dangerous. Her eyes flickered with excitement, even as it acknowledged the danger she was in. He lunged forward to pin her, the coyote barely dancing out of his grasp.

Cerberus strolled through the woods with his tail swaying and not a care in the world. His eyes were bright and playful, his ears stood upright with joy, and he almost felt as if he had a song hiding behind his lips, waiting to slither out. But he was too ‘tough’ for singing, too ‘manly.’ So he’d simply strut along, glancing about as he enjoyed the morning air. That is, until he caught wind of a raucous nearby.

His tail stopped mid-swing as he turned his snout toward the scent of two others: a male and a female. His steps became quiet, and he slipped through the forest with a careful gait until they came into view. They seemed to be playing, performing the dance of mateship even, and Cerb nearly turned away before he noticed that the male was acting a bit more forceful than this female seemed to like. At the final forced mounting, Cerb leapt from his cover and stood behind the male, reaching out to grab him by the scruff of his neck and tug him away. With an upturned lip, Cerberus snarled at the offender, and then his mismatched eyes darted over to the fae to ensure she was safe. But he didn’t wait long for her answer, for his patience was never enduring when it came to men who took advantage of women. He was about to teach this brute the true meaning of ‘respect.’

OOC

The male yelped as he was tugged back. Terra straightened from her crouch on the ground, curious as to who would interfere. She'd never been rescued before, had never needed it. To see someone step in simply because she was struggling to handle it on her own was strange in her mind. She studied him closely, trying to figure it out. At his glance Terra wagged her tail briefly before her eyes slid back to the large canine that was standing up, growling. He hadn't liked the interruption.

Terra snarled at the dark male, snapping her distaste. Any interest she'd had in him evaporated when he tried to dominate her. That was not something she would welcome. A wild spirit, Terra would not be held captive by anything, let alone a stranger that held no worth to her. She moved back into the trees a short distance, unable to fight him head on. Perhaps in the tangle of undergrowth she'd have a better chance, but in the open his weight would throw the match in his favor. The male stepped forward, hoisting himself taller as he tried to make his claim.

With a grin on his face, Cerberus readied himself for any advances. He’d sparred enough with his brother that fighting wasn’t something he had to think twice about to be good at; each movement was merely instinct. Growing impatient, Ceri lunged at the dark male, his jaws snapping viciously as his hands sought the brute’s neck. A quick glance over his shoulder to confirm the female’s location would be dangerous now; instead, he merely hoped she was somewhere safe and out of the way. His fiery eyes locked on the target before him, and the tough brute that was Cerberus lashed out with his teeth in an attempt to catch the offender across the face. He wouldn’t kill this male; murder wasn’t in his nature. But he wouldn’t hesitate to send this creature staggering into the bushes with his tail between his legs. When it came to abuse, he held no tolerance.

A deep snarl shook in Ceri’s throat as he continued to barrage the male with his snapping jaws, not once letting up the attack. That was his method: pummel the victim with lightning-fast movements until they called ‘uncle.’ If he missed, he’d jump right back in, not offering a moment of hesitation. If his hands had failed to connect with the man’s throat the first time, they’d aim for it again. If his teeth missed the dark face before him, they’d snap at it again. There was no relenting with this one, for he was prepared for every counter attack as even his ruthless father had taught him to be. He would avenge the female, no matter what it took.

OOC do forgive her, her brain's not working

Terra yipped with excitement, dancing back and forth as she watched the stranger leap into the foray. Teeth snapped and hands moved to choke. The male was forced back, desperately trying to get past the teeth, but it didn't work. He was forced to turn tail and run. Terra pranced around, excited by what had happened. Her senses were flooded, unable to comprehend things beyond the most primal needs. Lifting her head she howled, a mixed pitch of her heritage, carrying the savagery of battle and the fierce joy that followed, a note of longing for touch mixed in.

The coyote sashayed out of the woods. She shifted into optime, straightening up before her savior. Glancing him over she smiled coyly. It looked like he was quite the specimen, rugged and very, very handsome. The smell of her body being in heat wafted through the air, inviting males to come. Her last choice hadn't been that great though, lending the instinct driven girl some sense of caution. Thanks for the rescue. May I know the name of my hero?

Cerberus straightened up again after the male had wiggled out of his grasp and bolted for the cover of the trees. Spitting a tongue-full of dark fur onto the ground, the mottle-pelted male turned just in time to catch the last of the fae’s transformation, heightening his interest once he realized this girl was like him. And then he caught the smell: like a firm yet feminine hand, her pheromones wrapped around his throat and threatened to suffocate the will power right out of him. This girl was in heat, and he was now the lucky dog privileged enough to get her to himself. His charming smile returned, his tail steadied its wag, and he looked at her like a rare creature to be admired as he portrayed the utmost coolness himself. With a brief bow of his head in greeting, he chuckled and said, Hero? Hardly. I was merely doing what had to be done.

Cerberus was notorious for schmoozing women – and even men if he had to – so his tone carried amiable confidence and finesse, as if flattery were an art he’d perfected over the years. Extending his hand to the girl, he gave her another good once-over, drinking in the sight of her gorgeous hair, pert figure, and dancing eyes with his own mismatched orbs. Never had a rescue resulted in such fine company for Ceri before, and the grin plastered across his face was purely genuine because of this one. A name is a mighty important thing though, sweetheart, he then said, his brow lifting mischievously. What do I get in exchange for revealing it?

A smile coated across the male's face, his tail wagging eagerly as he saw her full form. The shadows still dappled over her body, leaving parts of it in the dark, though the glint of the snow removed much of the darkness, leaving her visible if one cared to look. A flirtatious smile met her lips at his words. You don't like hero? Perhaps another title would suit you better. Her tail wagged slowly, letting him look her over, his gaze sending shivers of pleasure through her body.

He was so courteous, even bowing his head as he spoke, trying to play down his actions. Terra knew better than to accept that. While the coyote was rather new to being rescued, having the first one happening near moments before, flirting was a tongue the female was rapidly picking up, her days spent flirting and luring males towards her. She reached out her hand, accepting his to pull her out of the shadows. Swiftly she removed her hands, grace in every feature. Maybe I'll give you mine in return.

Cerberus continued to smile as the fae stepped into the light, providing him a better look. After her hand retreated from his, he began to walk slow circles around the girl, looking her up and down as he moved. He wasn’t really checking her out anymore; now he was mostly just sizing her up. She seemed tough for her age, and fairly capable of getting herself out of sticky situations. How had she ended up in the clutches of a brute like that dark wolf?

His ears perked at her words and he chuckled, the sound thick and sweet like honey. His tail flicked again, and his mismatched eyes swiveled away to look out at the forest, if only for a moment as he thought. Sounds like a fair enough trade to me, he finally said, his fiery gaze returning to the girl. My name’s Cerberus. And you are? His eyes fell over her again, his smile morphed into a more serious look. But it didn’t stay that way for long, for she seemed to have some hidden capability to make him smile. She was darling in every sense of the word, and he knew it was by grace alone that he’d stumbled upon such a lady. Now she need only prove herself worth his time, something she was already doing quite well. However, Cerberus didn’t waste his time with women who were air-headed or rude; if this woman proved to be that way, then he’d have no problem saying ‘goodbye.’

Being circled by the gray wolf wasn't exactly the most comforting feeling. Terra was being measured, and she could sense that with every nerve in her body. Lightly her body was posed for movement, ready to dash away or launch into attack if given a reason to. Her tail waved behind her, a hypnotic movement to draw one's gaze to her rear. Her body was lithe, thinner than most canines, and Terra lacked the thick curves that other females held. Her own body was curved, but it was more subtle, the beauty of someone caught in shadows than one who walked in the open.

Her rescuer returned to stand before her. Letting her ears swivel to catch the noises Terra remained focused on the male before her, sharp green eyes matching the fire in his golden ones. A slow smile curved around her lips at his words. Terra. So Cerberus, stepping forward she circled around him this time, her gaze piercing as she measured the weaknesses and strengths in his body, what are you doing so far from your home?

He had no doubt noticed the sway of the girl’s tail, and he didn’t neglect to offer a glance in that direction. When he stopped his circling, however, she did something interesting: she mimicked his movements and took a turn around him, looking him up and down as he had her only seconds ago. But her gaze was much more scrutinizing than his had been, and this made him stand up a bit straighter and lift his snout a bit higher. He would show this girl how healthy of a male he was, a prime specimen of a coywolf indeed. Luckily, any flaws he had were internal, despite the scar that adorned his dusty brow. Cerberus was a handsome canine, and he definitely knew it – he’d make sure that she knew it too.

Then, the girl revealed her name and Cerberus didn’t even try to suppress the now-frantic wagging of his tail. Her movements became less intimidating and more enticing now, and he DID have to suppress the urge to reach out and snatch the girl up in his arms. Instead, he tugged anxiously at the rope necklace draped over his collar bone, his tail ever-swinging behind him. At her words, however, his tail drooped and his expression became stern once again. Had a bit of a disagreement with the folks, he said shortly. Didn’t feel the need to stick around. His ears swiveled back against his head and he looked out to the forest again, controlling his anger well due to practice. Besides, he finally added, his eyes hesitating before turning back to Terra, I was well overdue to leave the nest anyway. Finally his smirk returned, his arms folding across his taut chest as he chuckled again. And what about you? he asked. Have you always run with the sex-craved lunatics? Or did you just get lucky today? He winked then, attempting to show to her that he was merely teasing and that he knew she was far better than that…or was she?

OOC

Terra hadn't meant to aggravate old wounds. She'd simply picked up the faint scents on his body, recognizing him as a traveler. He seemed strong, strong enough to survive living as a loner, strong enough to travel and adapt rapidly to changes in climate and prey. The tugging of the necklace drew her attention, recognizing it as a check, one designed to keep emotions and impulses from swelling over. His words were taut, brewing curiosity in the girl. Terra was much more interested in other things at the moment luckily. Such as the fact that he had such a commanding air to him, one that promised he'd keep his head in a disaster, and know what to do.

She wondered if he'd be able to keep up. A coy smile met Cerberus' question. Her tail wagged as she stepped closer to him. Just unlucky, I guess. Not very good at identifying who would be best for me yet. Her eyes told another tale, asking if he was the one for her, if she'd finally be able to stop her quest. A challenge rested in there as well, telling him that it'd be hard work keeping others away from the teasing female. As for before, well, I've always had a knack for causing trouble.

Cerberus seemed to relax as Terra stepped closer to him, explaining with a light tone her situation. He caught the playful and searching flicker in her stunning eyes, and a smirk to match her own crept over his pale lips. So she liked to play tricks, eh? He could definitely get used to this girl. Almost as if in response to her movement, Cerberus stepped closer to her as well, tilting his nose downward and almost touching her forehead with it as he studied her face. She had very unique markings, but they were no less lovely and in fact rather intriguing. He was beginning to like this girl more and more, and now it was time to see if she, too, could keep up with him.

Ah, so you’re a trouble maker, he teased, placing his hands on his square hips. Perhaps he should have been like most luperci and dressed himself in the fabrics of humans, but he much preferred the freedom of his ‘natural outfit.’ It was so much harder to shift to other forms with cloth binding your limbs; he’d found that out the hard way. The only thing he wore – the only thing he’d ever wear – was the token of his dear brother’s life. To most it would seem a morbid token, but it was all he had left of Geoff other than a few decaying memories. Soon enough he’d tell Terra of his past, but not now. He was in a playful mood, and the mischievousness danced around in his bi-colored eyes as he looked her over again, finally sticking his nose out to press it into her ear and mutter softly, That’s alright, I like to play games.

OOC its all good. 'bout time someone was able to match me

Cerberus pushed back against her teasing manner the same way she had challenged him. Liking the tugging feel, the challenge that was brewing, Terra licked her lips lightly. Her gaze fell down his body, noting the sharp tone of his abs. Terra wasn't wearing anything, something that was unusual for her at the moment, though would rapidly return to the norm once her hormones stopped shooting her messages about needing to attract a mate.

His nose nudged her ear, sending thrills through her body. The soft whisper brought an impish laugh from her. Really? Terra danced away before slipping behind him, leaning in close. I rather enjoy them myself. Riddles and traps, and paths lit by moonlight, they were all part of her, wrapped around her soul. Coming up with a game they could play without supplies at hand would be difficult, but she could manage. Her teeth tugged on his ear before stepping away, tail swaying.

There wasn’t REALLY a reason for Ceri’s heart to be beating so fast, but it was. Perhaps it was simply the fact that Terra excited him – he wasn’t one to get nervous, was he? His tail swayed more rhythmically behind him as her eyes danced around his torso, and he smiled rather proudly. Then she slipped around behind him, and he thought to whirl around, but she was already against his back and at his ear. He leaned over a bit so as to aid in the height difference, and then suppressed a foolish grin at her whispers. As she sauntered away, Cerberus turned around completely, forcing his eyes not to linger too much. Where was she going? What was she thinking? What did she want him to do? Ears pointing forward, Ceri stepped toward her slowly, his pace increasing until finally he was trotting up behind the fae. His arms shot out to catch her around the waist, attempting to pull her into a hug against his chest. Where do you think you’re goin’ little miss? he growled playfully, his chin lowering to rest near her shoulder. His back flexed then in order to aid the curling of his spine over the tiny girl; he hadn’t realized how much shorter than him she actually was. But he liked petite girls, for the tall ones always intimidated him. What was the point of being a man if the woman dominated you in height alone?

Snapping back to attention, Cerberus inhaled a smidge of Terra’s scent and committed it to memory, his tail’s sway increasing in speed until it wagged fervently above the small of his back. Perhaps he was acting like a foolish yearling, but he didn’t care. Flirting did funny things to the brute, things that made him feel like king of the playground.

OOC

Whirling around Terra stepped back towards the forest. In summer her coat was a fabulous tool in her game of shadows, a challenge. With winter though, her tawny red coat blended in with the trees, the bare bark camouflaging her steps. Hearing the sounds of pursuit Terra slowed down a touch, letting him catch up. His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her close. She turned around, nuzzling him softly as he spoke, bringing a chuckle to her lips.

His tail wagged wildly, Terra feeling the thump of his heart against her. Somewhere quieter. There's a place nearby. No one knows of it. No one but her. It was a beautiful little place. A small grove of trees around a small cave, a small pool reflecting what they saw. The water was frozen at the moment, but it was still a beautiful place, perfect for trading secrets and spending the time without a care. Playfully she broke free, turning back to nuzzle him again before stepping back towards the trees, moving towards the place.

Cerberus smiled widely as the fae nuzzled into his arms, and his tongue lurched out to graze her cheek, barely missing as she tugged away again. It was curious that this girl didn’t seem to want to prolong any physical contact, but Ceri convinced himself it was simply because they were still technically strangers. If he were Terra, he probably wouldn’t be so eager to snuggle up to some scarred brute with a rope around his neck either, especially not after what she had just been through. Trotting forward to match Terra’s pace, he strolled beside her, his gold and orange eyes darting about the forest once more to survey the area. It was a lovely forest, much nicer than the one he had grown up near. Inhaling deeply, Cerberus reveled in the fresh scent of the pines and damp grass, Winter having nearly released its chilly grasp on this part of Nova Scotia.

As they walked, Ceri’s eyes flickered back down to the coywolf, his standard grin tugging at the corners of his mouth once again. Though part of him should have been cautious about heading into some mysterious place with a stranger, he really wasn’t entirely worried. Terra had an aura about her that left Ceri feeling livened and at ease, and she didn’t seem like the criminal type anyway. Returning his gaze forward, Cerberus allowed his tail to sway slowly behind him as he began to whistle a soft tune, partly to himself and partly for Terra’s benefit as well. There was nothing worse than an awkward silence.

OOC

Her ears pricked as Cerberus began to whistle. There was so much music in her life now, it was hard to believe that once she'd only known of singing with her pack. She didn't sing herself, her voice a rough motley of her heritage, but she did dance to it. Hearing him Terra's swaying picked up, dancing slightly as she entered the clearing. A small cave, perfect for keeping out the cold. The frozen pond shimmered in the light, just big enough for the two to slide across, deep enough for small fish to live in.

With their destination reached there was nothing to stop Terra from reaching back to Cerberus, rubbing herself all over him. Well, nothing but the promise of a game. It couldn't last long, Terra's body demanding so much more, but for the short time Terra would go along with it. She crossed to the other side of the pond, sliding across before spinning around and taking a seat outside of the stone den. My own slice of paradise. What do you think? She had a dozen such places scattered through the neutral territories, discovered through her travels, but he didn't need to know that. Besides, she had already given him one secret, something Terra was very reluctant to part with.

Cerberus noted with a smile the hybrid’s gentle dancing, and he chuckled softly as she swayed. He had whistled all the time around his brother, but Geoff usually told him to knock it off after a while; he’d never had someone dance because of it. As they came to a clearing, Ceri’s eyes bounced around, taking in every exquisite detail. It was a quaint little place, one that reminded Cerberus of the pond he and Geoff used to play in as pups. His smile broadened, his whistling ceasing momentarily, and he looked down at Terra. It’s lovely, he admitted softly.

Terra nuzzled her body up against his, and for a moment he thought he was going to explode. His tail wagged frantically behind him, and then jerked to a halt when she pulled away again. She mentioned it was her own ‘private paradise,’ and then she slid across the ice to the bank on the other side. As she sat, Cerberus looked across the ice nervously, attempting to gage how thin it might be. Metaphorically, he knew it was paper thin, and even the slightest misstep would send him plummeting into the frigid waters below. But perhaps, physically, it was safe? Taking a tentative step forward, Ceri carefully siphoned his weight into that leg, finally sighing with relief once it proved stable. This didn’t prevent him from moving his other leg forward just as carefully, however, for even if the ice didn’t break, he still didn’t have a sure footing on the slippery surface. Mismatched eyes darted over to Terra as he stood, knees bowed in and body shaking. His arms stretched out, ready to catch himself if need be, and then he moved forward with baby-like scoots. Eventually he grew confident enough to lengthen his stride a bit, but the ice didn’t approve of that as much as he’d hoped. Feet shooting out from under him, Cerberus toppled over onto the frozen pond, his rump connecting with the ice with a painful ‘thud.’ His ears pinned back against his head as he then looked up, a sheepish expression on his face. Clearly he’d never been skating before.

OOC

Terra's tail wagged softly as he said that the place was pretty. It cheered her up, knowing that she wasn't the only one with such an opinion. Cocking her head she watched Cerberus pause on the other side. There was no reason for him to hesitate. The ice was perfectly safe. Seeing Terra go over it hadn't reassured him. At last he began this slow childish shuffle, bringing a chortle from Terra. He looked ridiculous, all prepped up to fall, ready to brace the ground if it threatened to break. It wouldn't help him if the ice did decide to crack, and it wouldn't help him not fall. She watched with a large grin on her face, enjoying the show. Cerberus was growing a little more confident, and started lengthening his strides.

A shout of warning slipped from Terra as he stretched his foot out, setting himself off balance. Her warning was too late, Cerberus already crashing to the ground. His feet slipped forward, arms pinwheeling to try and catch himself. It was comical watching him fall to the ground. Terra completely cracked up, laughing so hard she was struggling to breath. Finally getting herself under control she looked back at him. Cerberus' expression was so sheepish, clearly unaware of the mistake, and quite embarrassed. That sent another barrage of laughter through her, though it was more controlled this time. Finally in control Terra straightened up and slid over to where Cerberus was. Need a hand up? Her tail lashed to either side rapidly, merriment still rampant in her eyes.

The laughing coming from his hybrid playmate deepened the blush already stretching across Ceri’s handsome face. Terra traversed the ice again with an outstretched hand, and Cerberus took it, holding tightly as he tugged himself to a standing position. He paused for a moment, holding completely still as he stared down at his feet with a threatening gaze: ‘don’t you dare embarrass me again, feet.’ Finally he looked back at Terra, chuckling shyly as he continued to hold onto her – he wasn’t going anywhere yet.

After taking a moment or two to secure his footing again, Cerberus began to slowly make his way over to the bank, whether Terra was coming or not. He released his death-grip on the girl, his arms stretching out again to balance himself as he moved. Recalling what the coywolf had done earlier, Cerberus forced his steps to become more fluid until he slid awkwardly across the ice. He wasn’t truly skating, but he wasn’t falling either, so he was satisfied. Finally reaching the bank, Cerberus dove into the snow and laid on his back, propped up on his elbows as his chest heaved in a nervous pant. His eyes were bright with accomplishment, however, for it was a big feat to him that he’d managed to cross the pond without killing himself. Looking to Terra like a child who’d just tied his own shoes, Cerberus chirped, I did it!
