Cerberus didn’t wake until the fae was gone, the rough feeling of the tree bark against his neck sending an odd jolt down his spine. Fiery eyes darted about, trying to make sense of what was going on. All he could gather was that Terra was gone, and now he was hugging a tree with his wrists bound by the rope that had once adorned his neck. With a few vain tugs, Cerberus lowered his ears as an annoyed whine passed his lips. Oh, she was good. This was definitely the last time he’d fall asleep on her…that is, if he ever saw her again.
More tugging ensued as Cerberus tried to slither a foot forward to push against the tree. But it was no use, for he was in such a position that his legs could only be used to kneel on at the moment. Painfully, Cerberus tried to twist his arms around, his wrists wiggling against the taut rope in an attempt to loosen it. His fingers stretched awkwardly to try and untie the knot that bound the rope together, but Terra had pinned him in such a way that only hours of labor could free him. And so he worked, tugging and twisting and stretching and snorting, until finally the rope loosened enough to allow him to slip out and tumble backward onto the cold ground. Staring up at the sky, Cerberus growled curses under his breath as he realized that he could’ve just shifted into his lupus form, his tinier wrists allowing him to escape without much struggle. But Terra would’ve clearly known that in his frustrated daze he wouldn’t think of this. Oh yes, she was good.
