Mediations of the Heart

It took X’yrin a bit of time to reach them but not a terrible amount of time. It gave her time to study her friend and guard. He certainly was handsome but he seemed rather tense and watchful. Neither of those was surprising but it had been a while since he had been so tense. She sometimes wondered what made him so tense when there was no danger to either of them, but especially not her. Since he seemed to not care about him being in danger. Yet she couldn’t ask him what was bothering since the other woman approached.

Fatin was pretty sure they had interrupted her time with someone since they could smell someone on her, most likely her mate. ”We’re sorry to bother you. You had said to come see you to do our initiation task when we had gotten settled. We can come back later if you need.” Fatin was apologetic and slightly amused. Asad was…blank. He was hard to read most times, even for her, and now was not an exception.

But she turned back to X’yrin and smiled. ”Might we know a bit more about what precisely we are going to be doing for the initiation task?” Her tone wasn’t nervous or afraid but simply curious. Though she did also wonder if Asad would do it as well. She thought so but she never knew what would be decided.
