Mediations of the Heart

Fatin knew that she was being a bit ridiculous in her worry but she couldn’t really help it. Asad placed a gentle hand on shoulder, giving it a gentle and reassuring squeeze, and she rewarded him with a grateful smile. He became smug about the fact that he had made her better and she gave him an eye roll but also had a bit of a smirk on her lips.

The two of them followed Xy’rin up mountain paths and Fatin took the opportunity to study their surroundings. She had to admit that the scenery was rather pretty. But she did catch the other female studying the two of them, apparently sizing them up. She had a feeling it was to see if they were fit for doing this task. Fatin was no weakling and Asad was…well very much in shape. Her own strength was more lean muscle than bulging.

Xy’rin asked them to talk about their homeland and what it was like compared to Nova Scotia. She smiled and said, ”Well, Turkey is very varied in what it is like. Near us, the summers are rather warm and dry and our winters are cold and wet, but not as cold as here. We do tend to get earthquakes. And there are mountains there. I suppose it is rather mild compared to a lot of places. Istanbul, the city where I am from, is a port city.” She finished but allowed Xy’rin to ask other questions about their home.
