He didn't want her to pull away. He wanted her to just ignore him, to tell him that it would all be ok. But he knew better. He knew that what they were doing, whatever it was, couldn't possibly lead to anything positive. It was too brash, too sudden, too reckless. Vikas knew at the end, at least one of them would feel dirty and guilty. And heaven knew it would make things complicated if he did end up trying to join Fleta's pack. The male felt her warm body leaving him, and he gave her a sad, desperate little lick to the shoulder to try and lure her back. At the same time, he let go with his hands, allowing his arms to dangle at his sides. This was for the best. If that intoxicating scent weren't swirling in the air, if his hormones weren't in charge of his brain right now, he knew this wouldn't really be what he wanted anyway. He wanted more, needed more than just a quick screw. And he knew that was unfair to demand out of a complete stranger.
Vikas moved his foot from the couch cushion, dropping the chair back onto all four legs again. He watched her, smiling softly as he watched a new idea form in her head. The male stood, ready for her next little adventure. "And what game would that be?" he cooed, now more in a teasing tone than an actual flirt. He had to behave himself, although that was becoming very difficult for him. Maybe if she was inventive enough she could keep both their minds focused on safer subjects. Maybe.
