There ain't no room in my bed

OOC:

Fleta left him on his own, and Vikas did the honorable thing, turning around and closing his eyes. He figured she wasn't stupid enough to walk right under his nose, but he didn't know what she had planned. He counted in his head, not wanting to make any noise and miss out on any revealing sounds she might make. Sadly for him, she wasn't making any noise at all. At least, nothing he could hear from where he was. Vikas was grateful that she was the one hiding, because he would have already knocked something over by accident and ruined his hiding spot if it were him. He finally finished his last number, mumbling the 100 out loud. He didn't even bother with the "ready or not", he figured if she was that slow she deserved to be caught.

He poked his head into each room on the lower floor briefly, but her scent was either weak or simply nonexistent. Unless she had discovered a way to magically mask her scent, Vikas determined she was not in any of those rooms. The wolf moved along, noticing a staircase where her scent seemed to grow stronger. He began marching up it, not suspecting that she would have laid any traps for him. The trickster's plans went perfectly, as the vibrations from Vikas' steps caused a landslide of junk to come tumbling down. A statue bounced down the steps, as did a wooden stool, a pile of cracked picture frames, and an old doll. Vikas' ears flattened, his body barely managing to react in time. He jumped up and out of the way of most of the booby trap, but the wooden stool bounced a little too high and nicked him in his left shin. He growled, kicking it angrily as he rubbed his poor leg. No bleeding, but it didn't feel too hot.

The Russian Wolf narrowed his eyes, looking up the staircase. The rest of it seemed safe enough. He crept up to the top, now a bit more wary than he had been before. Fleta played dirty! "You don't think you're actually gonna win, do ya?" he called out playfully. Vikas was determined to win this game, even if it meant he had to lose a limb or two. He walked down the upper hallway, sticking his nose in each doorway. It didn't take long for him to catch her scent again. This time it was the bedroom. There were plenty of places to hide in here. He got down on his hands and knees and lifted up the bed-skirt, but nothing was there except dust bunnies. He thrust open the curtains, but there hadn't even been a suspicious lump in the first place. Vikas wrinkled his nose, catching a particularly strong scent towards the closet.

He stood still for a moment, wondering if she was really so uncreative as to hide in a closet. But hey, maybe she had a plan and had a way of escaping when he looked inside. He was confident he could catch her if that was the case. Vikas placed one foot in, looking around the corner and into the dark. One step was all that was needed, Vikas was too heavy and his weight caused the door to swing shut against his back. The door bumped him forward and into a mess of old women's coats. "Ooph!" Vikas swam his way out of fake fur and moth-chewed wool. He stood again, but the door wouldn't open from the inside. Aggravated, he started looking around for a way to exit. If he could just figure out a way to escape, he would have Fleta in a heartbeat, he was sure of it. Vikas did not view losing as an option. "Yeah, well maybe I wanted to get trapped in the wardrobe, ever think of that?" he called out, his voice muffled by the wood.
