Family affairs were always joyous, but every single one seemed to hitch a snag. For Conri, it was his pack's neutrality
and Naniko's affairs with it. For Khaden, it was a multitude of thoughts that raped and pillaged his mind every night. He didn't quite know how to break it to his brother that the little sister Conri and Naniko hand raised turned out to bite back at the hand that originally fed her. He forced himself to disregard the looks that his brother gave him - raised brows, searching glances and Khaden ignored them all in stride. One day, one day soon perhaps, his true parent would know of Dhalia's true intent. But, thinking about it softly, Khaden was surprised that he had come so early. True, he had made a beeline back to old packlands as soon as he had made his decision, however Khaden was sure that Dhalia would have been in the lands by this time. The fact that Conri was asking the whereabouts of his sadistic sister he had to take as a good sign.
Talk of war shocked Khaden. Perhaps he was sheltered, considering he was definitely sheltered away from Soran, and when time came, sheltered away from Phasma, but in no way could he have predicted that not within three months and conflict had already risen. He knew of the vicious reputation Inferni had, especially as it merely relocated from the old lands of Bleeding Souls, but were tensions so high these days? He shifted his weight from one foot to the next, a habit developed over the road, as if he was weighing the words that Conri was telling him. He looked up, jade green eyes matching an identical pair as he smiled. "Of course I am staying." Khaden replied easily, his tail picking up it's gentle wag. "This is home." True, there were different directives of staying, but he said each word with ringing truth. He never truly wanted to leave, and now that he was back he knew that it was for him to stay.
