Amy didn't understand. She truly didn't. Amy didn't know why she'd leaped to protect pups she was trying so hard to kill, why she was crying, why Shadow was so adamant in doing something that she had never contracted him to do, something that would break something that held actual value in her stone cold world. A sword pointed at her, and all she could do was stand still, trying to move so that it wasn't pointing at her heart. It was a disaster, this battle that tore her so far apart she couldn't even stand against a single assassin that she knew she could match.
She shook her head, not understanding how being unable to kill a pup was supposed to be strong. All she could do was look at Shadow, wishing that he was wrong, that she could kill the pups without breaking. I don't want you to have to do this. Her voice was almost a whisper. Amy couldn't stand this situation, unable to move forward, unable to stand still. She wished the pups hadn't been flawed, that she had been able to bear them with pride. This was what fate had created though. An eternity passed before Amy stepped away and walked into the woods. She didn't look back, leaving Shadow with the pups, knowing what would happen, unable to bear the thought of what was happening because of her weakness.
