Better than revenge

Tola was calming down, thankfully. That had been exactly what she needed, and the twinges of pain throughout her body would prevent her from trying again any time soon. The short beating would, in fact, probably last her until at least the half-moon, when she would attack again. For the moment, she plotted that day, and then thought of what sort of revenge she would take when she returned to camp. Perhaps she would ruin his skinning, or hide his slingshot...if she could get it off his belt. That would be troublesome. He didn't even take it off when he slept, as far as she knew; a challenge.

She would be more than happy to conquer it.

Tola was drifting in and out of thought, through the stars, when the scent hit her, and she tensed up all over again, her hand clenching around the dagger still in her hand. Her eyes became more focused, and she let a low, rumbling growl crawl up her throat as the creature approached. She rolled swiftly to her feet, hovering in a crouch as she turned to glare at the wolf a few feet away. He spoke, hesitantly, and she answered with another growl, her lips pulling back from her teeth in a nasty snarl that may have belayed the fact that she was about to lunge for him.

He wasn't even wearing clothes. That sort of indecency was exactly what she would expect from their kind; the fact that he was stupid enough to approach a dog would just make it easier to kill him. She arched her spine, the fur there standing on end though it was hardly visible beneath her coverings, and would have crawled forward with her hands, if she hadn't then remembered she was in Optime; instead, she leaped to her feet, letting out a braying howl that carried down the mountain to Aleksei.

She barely got to lunge for the gray beast when the rock hit her in the back of the head, stunning her, and sent her to her knees. He'd hit harder that time, and she could feel where the sharp edge of the stone had cut into the back of her head. Her skull ached, and she was left growling at the wolf's feet, clutching her head and trying to bring the pain under control. In the time that she had, Aleksei had ascended the mountain, and stood just behind her with another rock ready in his slingshot. He nudged her with his foot when she tried to stand, making his message clear; she succumbed to growls, and only lifted her head enough to glare at the wolf with dark, hateful eyes.

"She don't take kindly to your kind," Aleksei grumbled, and the look he shot the younger male indicated he didn't take too kindly to the boy's presence. It was bad enough Tola was freaking out over the moon like the crazy bitch she was; the male's approach only added more problems to Alek's plate.
