Leaping Terra seized the moose's haunch. Unable to escape from her grasp the coyote was able to tear a large chunk out before retreating. Trembling the moose fell forward slightly, just as Hotaru leaped into the forray again. Fiercely Terra tore into the meat she'd grabbed. With the moose's windpipe broken it was only a matter of time before it died. Snarling Terra leaped onto it's back. From there she tore through, causing blood to spray before it's heart finally gave out. The two hunters had succeeded.
Not waiting to see if it was dead, simply satisfied it wouldn't fight back anymore Terra grabbed a bite and swallowed. Hotaru's howl had Terra lifting her own head, the mixed hybrid voice dancing alongside the pure long call that reached through the air. All would know they had fought and won. The meat was theirs. Any challengers that would come would be driven off mercilessly. Terra stood, blood coating her fur before relaxing her stance and tearing into the meat, beginning to wolf it down.
It wasn't often Terra got to eat large prey fresh like this. She was a small creature, incapable of taking them down by herself. With others usually busy a group hunt was difficult. It was worth every bit of it though. Terra dove into the flesh full heartedly. It was still warm, the blood making a savory sauce that wet her appetite more than the best spices ever could. The flesh was good as well. Moving around Terra rooted through the moose, tearing out chunks and devouring it, searching for the best pieces to eat.
