Selene nuzzled into him, letting herself be comforted. Relieved that she felt better Hadley attempted a small smile, one that vanished as quickly as it had appeared. His ears pricked for her words, but instead she simply burrowed into his neck. Hadley wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, letting her know that she was safe. He was glad he was so large, able to fully envelope Selene into his arms, able to protect her.
He nodded softly at her words, tickled by the touch of her hands in his hair. Hadley's brown eyes melted at her words. To be alone was a terrible thing. Hadley knew that, having spent so long without anyone to care for. The emptiness had been filled with alcohol and women, and Hadley had thought he was happy. It was different from this though, from the gentle peace brought by being with her. Slowly he followed after her into the cave, letting the words she said wash away. He wasn't ready to accept them just yet. In the cave he climbed onto the furs with her. Pulling the blankets around them Hadley settled down, warm and happy, ready to drowse off.
