To have this moment disrupted by tears was very disturbing for Hadley. Selene seemed to be swinging all over the place, going from peaceful to happy to excited to crushingly sad, all the time tugging him along. He wanted her, he wanted to protect her, he wanted to play with her. She evoked all these emotions in him, yet there was nothing Hadley could do when she moved to tears. None of his efforts seemed capable of stopping the endless tide.
The words brought a growl from Hadley. Whoever wanted to hurt Selene would have to go through him first. Confusion did slip over his face when the name was given though. Ismeme? He had no idea who that was. Why would she want him? Kiling Selene just to get to him made absolutely no sense in his mind. He would stand between Selene and the danger, but it seemed that he was the one putting Selene in danger, simply by being with her. What could he do?
