Ulilohi took his concerns in stride and responded slowly, but with a sense of awareness that Claudius respected. He could see her struggling for a response, so he was able to appreciate her answer. Her point about Maska was well-received, but also served as a reminder. Maska was a tyrant and although he had been put down, it had been with the aid (if you could call it that) of the very packs he had hurt. Claudius recognized that physical strenth was not the only thing a leader might need. He realized this now. Like his namesake, he was not fit in body, but in mind.

When he relayed his true fear -- that he was damaged and flawed -- Uliloihi responded with wisdom he would have expected from someone his mother's age.

With this in mind, Claudius moved closer to reply.

"I.... I trust you, U... Ulilohi," he said. His words were slow, since he knew it was the best way to tame his stammer. "And... you-ou trus...t... me... so... I will... accept... and hope... I can honour... you and this tribe."
