When she was younger, she would have submitted immediately, groveling and kowtowing to whatever border guard happened to bump into her. But something had changed in her, something snapped, and she refused to be treated like dirt anymore.
She regretted it as soon as she caught a closer look at the dark she-wolf; the female was sporting her bulky halfling form, graceful and thick-muscled with power. Coli knew that her own frail shifted form was far outmatched if it came to a fight, and the recognition of danger set her nerves a-jangle.
