apologies my dear!

Saul Chibi is by Requiem!

Eirias had returned a little while ago with no letters. It had saddened the grey male greatly to know that his family, and Neela, didn't particularly want to speak to him. Had his move damaged them that badly that they would ignore his letters? He didn't know. Saul didn't know how he felt about it, but sadness was definitely on the top of his list. Green eyes had turned around the room when Eir had returned, talons empty of letters that he might have been sent back with. Of course, the utter joy that the bird had managed to get back to Ichika and deliver the letters, and then return back to him was something he should be overjoyed about and Saul had praised the bird for his intelligence. There was still a lot of work to do with the falcon and Saul felt as though he was stretched a little thin. Now that Temeraire was growing steadily, he was far more active than Saul was used to. And while Saul knew that it wasn't his job to breath down his sons neck all day every day, he couldn't relinquish the protective hold he had over his son. He was pleased that the boy got on well with Ezra's son Elias, even if the latter was a few months older than the former. Saul wanted to begin teaching Temeraire about a few things, but he internally refrained- his son was a bit too young to be forced to sit down and learn about reading and writing, especially since he had no opposable thumbs to practise with.

His surprise was well confined when a dark shadow had appeared a few days ago, a moody expression on her face. Saul recognised her however as Neela's bird Grynn and he'd been more than happy to receive the letter that his friend had sent. It gave her apologies, as well as telling him about the upset in Ichika. It pained him to no end that his home was bubbling beneath the surface, just waiting to erupt, but there was also a small part of him that was relieved he'd removed himself from that situation. Had he stayed, he probably would have turned nasty with X'yrin, even at the risk of upsetting his adopted father. According to Neela's letter though, X'y had demoted two of the strongest members of the pack because of the two of them killing. He refrained from making judgement on their punishments, but Saul knew Saluce and Jace would have acted so under the most severe of circumstances and they only would have done it to protect the pack.

Today, Saul thought it would be a nice idea to take Eirias into Halifax and test his agility. While the buildings were no longer tall, there was still lots of hazards for the bird to avoid. As they'd made their way over to the crumbling city, Saul had talked at the bird endlessly, pleased when the white Gyrfalcon had managed to repeat the word "Fly". Saul had ripped off a small chunk of rabbit meat he used to train the bird and thrown it high in the air, pleased when the bird made a swooping descent to catch it. It was around midday when the two arrived in Halifax and something immediately had the birds attention. Before Saul could get control of his avian companion, the bird took off into a hunting spiral and Saul caught what the bird was aiming for. A bright white cat stood outside the door to a better-made house as a large Luperci broke through the window of said house to obtain entrance. EIRIAS NO! Saul bellowed, racing towards the cat and owner as Eirias swooped down. Luckily, the cat had pushed open the door and disappeared inside as Eir tried to grasp at his retreating tail.

Saul approached cautiously, holding out his arm and firmly calling to Eirias. Eir, come. He said and the bird reluctantly hopped over the ground and up onto his arm. Saul winced softly as razor sharp talons gripped his arm, reminding himself that it would be wise to find a pad of leather to save himself the injury. Standing outside the door, Saul heard voices from inside and coughed softly. I'm sorry about that- Eir is young and hasn't quite got the commands yet... Saul called out, hoping that neither of them were hurt, although they did appear to have already been breaking in. With a stern look to Eirias, Saul approached the door, pushing it further open and letting sunlight flood the area, revealing a dark Luperci on the floor, the white cat standing by his side.
