Hadley watched with wide eyes as the black demon spoke. He already knew that Isa wasn't well, able to feel her bones far too easily under what used to be a shiny coat. The female's arms retreated, and Hadley watched her curl into herself. Whining softly he laid down, pushing his snout into her neck, trying to reassure her that everything was going to be just fine. He'd protect her from whatever happened. As best as he could Hadley worked on calming Isa, humming softly and licking her cheek.
The assassin returned, passing water into his hands. Numbly Hadley stared at it before getting the idea. Just as quickly as his return the black wolf slipped away like a shadow. Isa's voice brought him back, setting the hybrid's tail wagging. Isa. You're okay. You need water. Lifting up the small water sack he held it to her lips, hoping she would drink. D-don't know. You vanished. Found you here with the killer.
