She had been spending more and more time away from the packlands, trying to avoid running into her sister. Ember was angry with her and fearful of her at the same time; she wasn't naturally a very dominant wolf, and couldn't force Firefly to adknowledge her rank like she should have been able to. Instead her sister just laughed at her. She didn't know which of them was larger, but that shouldn't matter. It was all in their personalities. And she was tired of everything. She had thought of going to Iskata and asking for advice...but didn't see what good that would do. If Firefly found out about it, she might taunt Ember more, saying that she ran to her mother for help. No. She had to do this on her own. The girl entered the borders, emerald eyes searching about. It was late afternoon, nearing sunset. Maybe Firefly would be in bed.
