As Kai lapped at the cool, refreshing water, he was hyper-aware of her presence as he watched her, shivers running the length of his spine. However, as she pulled back, his eyes followed her for a split second before he focused his gaze on what he was doing while his attention remained with her. He could hear her moving away, smirking just a little at the thought of her looking at him, even though he wasn't entirely sure what she was doing back there. As she had done, half of him expected some sort of attack or pounce. But when Kai heard her words before Axelle approached and grabbed the scruff of his neck, he snorted deeply, lapping at his muzzle as water dripped from it, only to watch her body lower a little and her tail lift as she bared her fangs.
He knew what her bosy posture meant, knew what she wanted. She wanted to wrestle, though without the violence and bloodshed. In a way, it was more than just playfighting. It was a show of wits, of not just strength but slyness at the same time. Something Kai was always up for. But knowing that she wanted it made him want to deny her it. It was his way. His eyes scanned over her as she practically wagged her tail, and as much as he may have wanted to react, to wrestle in return, he resisted and instead shook his head firmly. "To be honest, I'm not much in the mood for childish wrestling with you, Princess..." He was. He so desperately wanted to pounce on her now that she had given him the invitation, but knowing that not doing so would only infuriate her. He wanted her to ask for it, to beg for it, for a reaction. Another way of asserting his dominance, of playing those mind games with her. What he wanted was for her to show her annoyance and frustration. What would annoy him was if she simply gave up on the idea as quickly as it had appeared in her. This constant battle fueled Malakai's slow burning fire he felt for this female. "I prefer the real thing..."
