The weather outside was shitty; shitty enough to not be out in it. Although she didn’t mind the rain, she also didn’t like to be out in it if she had a choice. It was cold, dirty and it made her fur cling to her skin – not a fun feeling. Once again Axelle found herself wandering the Howling Caverns. There were so many places inside the pack’s headquarters that she still didn’t explore, the library being one of them.

The shelves of books caught her eye and she was immediately drawn in. Although she wasn’t much of a reader, she liked to skim through the pages for things she could pick up on. She never really worked on her reading skills because she never needed them for anything that she did. She passed another sitting around on one of the couches, but didn’t notice him or who he was. She went straight to looking through various books on a shelf, with her back towards him. After a few minutes of looking around for an interesting book, she finally picked one: French History. She was told when she was younger that her mother had come from French lands, and so this sparked some interest in her. Even though this book told about French humans, it was still in her blood, no? Before returning back to her chair, she passed another interesting-looking one: Cat Behavior.

She turned around the other way, still not seeing the other on the couch across from her, and sat. She curled up with the French History book, placing the other one underneath her legs, and rested it on her knees, which were brought up close to her chest. She flipped through the first few pages, skipping them all because they were just straight reading. Pages full of words turned her off to reading because she couldn't read that well. She stopped when she found an interesting picture of a war, the top read ‘The French Revolution’, whatever that meant. She skimmed through the words that she understood catching the drift that they broke away from whatever was making them confined. She was so absorbed in figuring out what it was that they needed to become separated from, that she still didn’t look up and see that her favorite wolf, at the moment, was sitting right across from her doing the same.
