Kai's feral yellow eyes had cast over the words on the page for what seemed like an hour, the pictures more interesting for the most part that the descriptions. As he stared at the pregnant female, he turned the page, and saw another anatomical drawing of a female wolfs rear end, cut in half and opened up as a pup was emerging into the birth canal. Kai was fascinated, and again let his fingertips trace over the image. No wonder Ayasha was in so much pain as she gave birth - the size of the pup compared to where it had to travel...
It was only when his eyes lifted from the book he held to move onto another on the table before him that he caught sight of one sitting across from him. Offering the merest glance, he did a double take as his focus very quickly returned to his silent library companion. Axelle. He was unable to hide the smirk from his muzzle, as slowly, he lowered the book he was reading so as not to startle her or distract her from her own reading, seeing as how she was so absorbed that she hadn't even realized he was there, setting his book down with the pages open, before carefully easing himself off the couch, like an expert predator, his movements silent and gentle.
Moving around and out of her eyeline, Kai moved behind her, inching ever closer to her body, and very lightly, inhaled her scent deeply, before lifting his hands and placing them calmly upon her shoulders, letting his fingers rub against her fur in something of a massage, his muzzle brushing just a little against the side of her neck, his words calm, again so as not to startle her, looking over her shoulder to the book she read. His smile only grew as he nuzzled in against the side of Axelle's head with his own, still rubbing her shoulders. "Hey, Princess."
