Overgrowth Sunrise

The day had been extremely hot, the sun practically scorching anything and everything that it's rays touched. Conri had taken shelter in an old farm house earlier in the day, spending his time by rummaging through the junk inside and lying around for the most part. It had all been fairly quiet, not a soul entering to look around, like he might have imagined that they would, and he was almost certain that no one had even come by. When night came though, removing the harsh heat from the air, Conri decided it was time to move on. He could spend the night traveling until the sun came up, when he would likely have to take shelter somewhere else.

He was a good ways from the farmhouse now, surrounded by rows of trees. Each one appeared to be the same type, with fist sized red fruits hanging from them. Conri stopped for a moment, easing his body up on to the tips of his toes to admire one of the fruits. After a moment he reached out for it, just barely able to swipe it from the branch. He brought it down quickly, pressing it to his nose for a short moment before making an attempt at sinking his teeth in to it. It was hard and the awkward shape made it impossible for him to simply bite a piece off. Instead, he had to continue to bite at it, moving it around in his hand, trying with different parts of his mouth, before he was able to get a mangled piece off.
