the daydreamer's nightmare is to never even try

boom!

Myrika is by me!

Myrika smiled a lopsided thing as Vesper spoke of including everyone. Ezekiel hadn't done that -- it seemed to her he tried to bear much of Inferni on his lonesome. He hadn't told her or anyone else anything, ever, as a rule, and perhaps that had been the thing to drive him out. She would not do the same. Okay, she murmured, returning the nuzzle and sighing as she stood up, resigned to their fate. The reassurance was met with a confident grin. Though she was no longer quite so apprehensive, she didn't feel nearly as good about her prospects as that grin might have suggested. Still, she had to try -- she owed it to Vesper, Ezekiel, and all of Inferni.

To the D'Neville, I guess, she said, walking slowly toward the exit of Vesper's cave and out into the sunlight. She couldn't delay this forever, and waiting longer than necessary would only make it more difficult, in the end. Better to get it over with before her mind could create ten new scenarios of utter failure.
