Saki's busy quiet nature kept her from delving into their conversation, just happy to be as she was. Tharin watched Fayne as she looked at Saki, seeing all the joy in there. He didn't have that same joy as she did, looking at the pup. For him it was a duty. He cared for her, and loved the pup, but it didn't spark any deep feelings of joy inside him the way it seemed for her. Fayne's joy over knowing that her dreams were coming true were enough for him, smiling quietly. Saki would do better with a mother figure, but he would do his best.
The question caught the large wolf off guard. For him, the pack was his life. What happened to it happened to him, and distinguishing between them was difficult. No, just resting and recovering. I heard that Amy has others with her, that she's not alone, but that's all for me. There was no mate in his life, no female that he was interested in mating with. Part of that had to do with the fact that there was no one currently in heat, and that was what drove him to wish for that. Without the smell there, he thought little about such things.
Family comes first.
