Maybe this was wrong, but Haku's version of reality was being twisted and manipulated into something that provided him with somewhat reasoning. Everyone was against him, they wanted him bleeding in the corner. He had believed she was different, but she had turned her back at him and disappeared into the woods. Why had she not dived into his arms and let him hold her? What had he done to deserve her rejection, to be avoided for weeks after she was back? Why could they not stop blaming him for once? Of course, some blame, but everything? The lightning could strike down and kill a rabbit, was that his fault too? Her words barely reached him, but he could not make much sense out of them. They all told him what he wanted, what his intentions were. He was so bloody tired of it all. He had been so silly... to believe.. that.. Silly, so so silly.. Words were repeated over and over inside his head.

Yes, they were all right. Some part of him wanted to pull back and hide his tail between his legs, take the beating, but something stronger stomped the other way and told him to follow the crimson line. Someone was crying, and he realized that he was far from mentally stable. Forces argued and left him alone in his tracks for a split second before he let a growl rise loudly as a solid warning that she would be nothing than flesh and fur to him if she dared to strike out at him again. Violence was not always the answer, but he did hope she would go at him again, so that he could finish it once and for all, and never let the weak parts of him be revived ever again. Kill her, love her, or make her disappear.
