Still, Faolin was too much like her mother, and unable to remain in one place too long. That didn’t matter to Gabriel, who doubted he would find another woman that balanced him as well as she had.

indent It was laughter that broke from his throat next; short, dark laughter. “Something came up, I suppose?” There was a faint light in his eyes, suggesting that perhaps he knew this all ready. Perhaps he had heard this story before, or known it all along.
