Ask the Lonely

Firefly frowned at the words she was offered but she should have figured that not everyone would call the landsmasses by the same names. She herself had heard hundreds of different ones for her Ireland. She flicked her ears back and tried to remember other names that the lands to the north had been referred to as. "Scotland? Britian? Norway?" she hated the most current names to the lands, they sounded so bare of life, so stark and commanding. A male must have laid claim to the lands, they tended to name everything they could pee on after themselves.. why she would never know. She shook her head as she smiled sadly. "We weren't much for learning the ways of the rest of the world.. just ours." IT might have been a sad truth but atleast they were honest about it.

She didn't feel any need to apologize so she didn't, she never apologized.. not to stranger too often. Her ears pricked forward again as the ebony lass gave way to the name of a pack she probably knew nothing of but was politely listening to Firefly speak about. Yet it seemed that the woman was filled with surprises as she spoke of Clouded Tears and old ancestors. Firefly had never known any from Clouded Tears except DaVinci and Laruku, and of course her mother but she couldn't pick their minds at the moment. "My brother and mother grew up in Clouded Tears, they'd know more about him I'd think, or atleast there's a chance they would.." she said thoughtfully for a moment before admitting. "I'd have to ask DaVinci or Mother..." Firefly had listened to a million and one stories of Clouded Tears but the long nights on ship and overseas had been filled with many stories and names soo became jumbled and comfused in her mind as she'd aged and come into her teenage aireheaded bliss.

Firefly was uncertain just how helpful either could be but she could send the exotic lady on a mad witch hunt for either of the two, they both resided in the same lands, as strange as it was since their own mother had tried to kill him once upon a time.. but that was DaVinci's worry and choice, not her's. Her thoughts fluttered away again as the lilted voice rang out with such melody that she couldn't help but relaxing, her own tail giving a soft wag as she nodded in agreement to the words of the packmate. "DaVinci and Magdalena live in Phoenix Valley" she said softly, realizing just then that her elder half siblings had both gone back to mother. She really must find out what posessed DaVinci to want to be so close to the silver and gold lady. A lot of Firefly's dislike for her mother came from her actions towards DaVinci as well as how she'd let her previous mate manipulate her life so. The woman was strong, Firefly could admit that, but she gave too much of herself away for 'happiness' in the perfect little heartshaped box.

Her heart had begun to tug as the other woman agreed to the truth, the call for home was so strong and yet they both seemed anchored here. Eyes were both turned towards the east as Firefly sighed softly. "She'll always call so strongly.. and yet be so far away." she said wistfully before asking. "What keeps you away from home.." She didn't know if Cwmfen considered the land across the sea home but something inside Firefly would always see the green lands home... besides Storm was gone now, might as well have a real place to look to. That was always a grand thing, to know where one belonged.

And yet with knowing there came being known. Cwmfen spoke of her Eire name as she smiled softly. Ducking her head and shrugging as she tried to pass it off as nothing Firefly just admitted. "There was reason behind my name, or so they keep telling me." The obvious reason had been the tone of her coat yet she'd been told stories of a silly pup that had a love for bugs and how Iskata had taken him in. Somehow he'd graced her mother with the name Firefly Lady.. and when the pups were born she'd inherited it from the mory. It wasn't as grand as some other bits of hystory others might have but it was enough.

Their conversation seemed to suddenly shift back to the current world and their current lands as she was asked about her new position within the pack. Firefly nodded as she gazed along the edge of the lands. "The lands are so quiet lately but I have. It's as if after everything that happened this summer.. we live in a ghost town." It was so true, the lands once thriving were down to so few and the fights and bickering seemed none existance to what she believed. Even Haku seemed more relazed, less tense.. the darkness calmed somewhat in his soul. That was a bit of a dull moment for the lady but she knew how to work the male into a frenzy when she wanted to.. atleast in one way or another. Was there any reason for the ways she drove him to madness, no, but they made her life more interesting.

The bronze and gold lady was so bored for something to happen as of lately that it seemed she too had mellowed out. She was the agresssor in most ways but she could be playful and sweet when she wanted, which was far and few between. The exotic beauty before her seemed to have one of those rare cases where her inner fight with doubt and emotion had driven her to a calm in the storm and until the whirling madness that seemed to follow Haku returned perhaps she'd stay resonable for a bit.. or not. Life was a quickly changing thing and in the blink of an eye one never knew what was next.
