Not Far from the Tree
#7
Noah quietly kept an eye and ear on the young hot heat and made sure to face the circling wolf at all times. Older and stiffer he may have been but he had more experience than he cared to admit. One young, ill tempered male was not about to phase him or get the better of him.

“Not but cubs teeth. Yeh don’t even know how ta use dem.”

The grey male’s jaws parted still further, fully prepared if the pup came over for a lesson. Noah would not kill but he would not back down either. Although he did not realise it, he was becoming more like his adoptive father every day. Noah’s father had been a great and uncompromising alpha male. Even the old alpha had once put a surprised young Noah in his place. Unknown to Noah, he was about to carry on the tradition.

The boy reminded him of Lucifer at that age; all fight and no brains. It could be a fatal combination. It was a wonder Lucifer had survived to adult hood. Had Noah ever been that rash?
