Tip top ready for the sky

(I figure I should stick Trice into more group threads... and oh look, a little coyote! >Smile Don't worry, 'Trice has a strict policy not to harm pups, even if they are hated coyotes :p)

It was always colder near water, or so the large she wolf had found. At least her Secui form had seemingly better insulation than either her quadrupedal or bipedal forms. It was quite cold and very windy as swhe stalked along the shore, placing one finely boned paw in front of the other, white toes a sharp contrast to her black paws and legs. Her eyes, silver in some lights, icey blue in others, saw the white creature far after her nose had scented the mingled scents of Coyote and Inferni, which were both very distasteful to the big female. Cicatrice couldn't decide which she disliked more. Still, the small thing was a pup, which meant it was strictly off limits. She drew the line at children, no matter what they were, even coyotes. Only when they became capable of true fight or flight would her lenience cease. The last Inferni she'd encountered had been their Alpha, whom she'd matched in a fairly even fight. He'd been a hybrid though, which had given him added size and strength over his coyote bretheren,

A singing howl rippled smoothly through the air, though tentative at the same time. Eyes flashing, she looked down the beach to another wolf who'd appeared. The scent that flew on the wind this time said, female, slightly younger than she, wolf, and unaffiliated with any known pack. Huffing out s breath, she observed for a moment, then shifted her gaze back to the coy pup. This was the first time she'd stumbled across more than one traveler. At least they weren't both coyotes. Lifting her own muzzle, the scarred she wolf let loose a short howl, soprano in its tones, in response to the other Loner. At completion, she returned her gaze to the pup, and idly began winding her way in her direction.
