Gotta be Somebody

The anger, the reprimand did not come. Her jaws were set, her hands were clenched, mentally, and her gaze was direct. Everything in order to meet the punishment she truly did deserve; after all her brother had done for her she had repaid him with indirect disrespect. And now, he did not yield to anger, in fact, he was not angry at all. Perhaps he had been, although she had waited too long? As he spoke, casually shrugging those shoulders who made her wonder where he had the genes (her own frame was very lithe and small - and yet he was strong and powerful, and looked it too!), those vividly emerald eyes were enlarged. Deuce lived here now? He had brought his mistress and his bastard child to the lands of this pack? Surely Firefly could not appreciate this. This simple fact pleasured Mew slightly, but surprise at his actions overruled any feeling to be expressed. You.. brought them here? And you are not.. angry with me? One surprise overlapped another. It wasn't very.. tactical, perhaps. Although if Deuce was in need of support with her litter (by the way Haku said "little girl" - a non-plural phrase, it seemed as if it was only one child that had made it), she could see the necessity. It sure as hell might cause a load of problems for him, but then again it was all on himself for having caused them. Shaking her head, Mew smiled a half-smile, amused and fascinated. You're not angry with me despite how I deserve it, and you bring Deuce and your child here, in front of your mate's and your other childrens' noses... Will I ever understand you, Haku Soul...? A chocolate mystery, that was what he was. Yet, he warmed her heart in his usual way, and the tenseness she had felt tugging at her being the past months was evaporated with the simple words he spoke. How odd a bond they shared.

As the situation was more calm and not as tense anymore, he seemed more interested in the gift. She had not expected him to know what it was already, unless he had started giving in to a sudden interest of human ways the past two months. Even if he had, it would have been up to chance for him to find out what the device did. Looking down at it, together with him, she lifted it a little higher, holding it with both hands. Suddenly a slight feeling of folly entered her head - what if he did not like this gift at all? Ah well, if he didn't she could perhaps borrow it when or if she should ever visit him here. Surely Firefly would mind it, but she could not be here all the time. It is a musical instrument, called a violin. Holding the parts separately now, the bow in one hand and the actual instrument in another, it should be easier to see any details. Do you want to see how it works? In fact, she had not practiced it much - eager to deliver the gift and receive the peace of mind she had so longed for. She could play a few simple melodies, however, and its sound was not at all that bad - dry and crisp, like it should be. Very much like the sound of a wooden, small and rather dense flute, just without the air. It would be interesting to see how he reacted to it.
