ooc: Backdated a day?
It seemed like mother nature couldn't decide what she was going to throw at the wolves this day. It had started out with a light snow in the early morning, changing to rain and now sleet. The Commander felt sure that the ground between here and the mansion would be icy, and was hesitant to leave it at first. She had been watching the sky for a time now, her chin resting on the upward slope that led up out of her den.
Naniko rose and stretched after a few minutes of deliberation, shaking her bright pelt free of the debris that had gathered in it during her nighttime slumber. She put one paw out, then another, then another. The ground wasn't as bad as she'd expected, but the icy rain felt cold on her back. She was on four legs today, going for the idea that she would be able to balance better on four legs than she would on two, so the fur on her body was a lot thicker and warmer.
By the time she got to the front porch of the mansion she was thouroughly soaked nonetheless, and she shook her fur out before she entered the parlor. It was much warmer in here. The fire was almost out though and she took a moment to rekindle it, gripping the poker in her teeth and shoving it sideways into the embers.
