The basement, which had previously felt like more of a cell than anything else, had blossomed into something like a sanctuary for the young male. There were candles all about, lining the sides of the floor, shelves, and book cases, but not a single on of them had ever been lit. There pots and pans, books and all sorts of shiny trinkets to keep the young man occupied. Off in the corner, where Jasper currently resided, was a large pile of blankets and pillows, but mostly pillows. He'd discovered, not that long ago, that giant plush pillows were a favorite of his, and that was where he sat when the sound of feet on the stairs could be heard.

The sound of the steps made him paranoid, made him sink down into the pile of pillows. He didn't know who it was, his nose couldn't tell him, and it was likely someone coming to look for something, since the basement had been nothing but a stockpile of random items before he took it over. The voice though, which he identified immediately, calmed him. "I'm here!" And he was happy that it was Corona, that he wasn't going to be cornered in the basement by someone that would likely not be happy to find him there.
