Ryan had made a promise to herself to make a better effort at being a decent leader to the clan. Now that that she had decided to clear her mind of distractions, the girl had begun to pay better attention to the responsibilities that came with being Centurion. This included the not-so-fabulous errand of remarking the borders and keeping an eye for wandering paws. So far, her rounds had been rather uneventful. She had started on the western most side of Inferni’s borders not far from where she and Valkyrie shared a den. From there she circled around south, slowly making her way up the eastern side of the clan’s lands. Eventually, she rounded around the northeastern most point of the borders, Halcyon looming as a backdrop to the scenery.

There was nothing of interest in sight, but it was the scent that made Ryan come to a halt. She turned her face to the breeze, searching for that same smell again so she could determine where it was coming from. The rhythm of her heart increased and a flutter of butterflies took over her stomach. The scent didn’t make her hair stand on end because she was scared or defensive; she was nervous and excited - she knew it was him.

Ryan hiked through the grass, leaving the border of Inferni behind her. It wasn’t until she laid eyes on the silvery blue frame of his that Ryan’s heart started to beat widely against her ribs. Her mouth seemed to lock shut, and her throat suddenly was too dry. She tried to speak, but failed. It didn’t seem like he had noticed her yet, but perhaps her scent had reached him. When she was finally able to bring herself to speak, the first words to tumble were, "You shouldn’t be here, so close." And although as one of the leaders of Inferni her words should have emitted stern and warning, the simple phrase was tender and concerned, much like it would be from a hopeless girl like her.
