She ran until her feet refused to hold

private, somewhere between CD & Halifax.

The rain had finally ended, but the clouds would not dissipate. They hung over her homeland like a canopy. Shadowing the Manor, blocking her form the sun. Leaving them in darkness. Mati moved quickly, as quickly as her heavy body would move. Her nose fell to the ground and followed the scent that had turned and run from their home in distress. The girl knew where she was going, but there was a mystery in her sister’s intentions. Mati did not want her to venture into a vipers nest, full of dangers and poisons. Her mind’s eye was filled by the vision of the small pup, how she had cried when she held her. When it had come time to tend to her, and face Savina, Mati had been strong but her heart was still broken by the little ones illness.

She began to run, the scent filling her nose and propelling her forward. Violet eyes searched the horizon, seeking out the white pelt of her sister. There were times when Mati felt distance between them. They did not hold the bond that she and Haven held, but still Mati felt their blood connect and would not let her follow their mother into a world of drugs and destruction. She wasn’t happy that Naniko had been dethroned, not that Mati was, but she had not know the things that had been said. She did not know the effects of the powder their mother stayed loyal to. Long bounds brought her close, and she hoped to cut off her path.
