Rain still poured from the heavens, even though she was mostly sheltered beneath the trees. It didn't take long after the fight for the monster to release its grasp on her and afterwords she was left broken. All her anger had been spent and now she was only left with the feelings of inadequacy, doubt and pain. Blood still trickled from the puncture marks on her upper right arm and it throbbed with pain. The pain was nothing compared to what she had felt after the last time her personal monster had come out, but it only served to fuel all her emotional injuries, making them even more acute. She had done nothing to try and clean the wounds or stop the bleeding, her sense of self preservation having vanished.
The slender fey was laying on her side near one of the large trees, her knees curled up close to her chest. Sobs wracked her form as tears fell as freely from her eyes as raindrops from the sky. What had happened to her life? What had happened to her home and her family? Once again she felt as if she were being swept away from a dying ship into the stormy sea, though this time she was less certain of being carried to friendly shores. Would her daughter ever really recover from her ordeal? Would she and Kansas ever be able to mend things? Savina wanted those things more than she could say, but she didn't know if they were possible. Maybe there was nothing that could be done to help Cambria. Maybe this time she had pushed Kansas too far or his own guilt wouldn't allow him to stay with her.
All these thoughts assaulted her mind and she could feel herself cracking more with every barrage. For once in her life she felt like giving up, and that was perhaps the most scary thing of all.
