She had been watching the ill-tempered nag for many days, wondering just what was the best way to approach the bitch of a mustang. So far she'd come up with nothing. Instead of worrying about her lack of skill at thinking up ways of proving she was the alpha over the tall elegant mare with the flint in her eyes Firefly had climbed over the top of the fence and strolled right out into the middle of the field. The horse in turn just ignored the woman as she stood before her and just glared at her. Firefly wasn't use to being ignored so she made herself known in the only way she knew how. "Okay, look you old nag, I probably won't like you and you don't seem to like anyone but I'm going to ride you oneday, got it?" She snarled.

Suddenly at the change in Firefly's voice the mustang's head jerked up, her nostrils flaring as she snorted and stamped her hooves, rolling her eyes at the wolf as she chomped her teeth and laid her ears flat against her skull. Firefly responded by doing nearly the same, her fanged bared at the horse as she growled a warning at the other female, letting her know she was boss, or so she thought.

Firefly knew that the horses wore halters and saddles sometimes though she doubted that she would ever be able to get the wild horse to agree to a saddle.. she saw something of herself in the mustangs dark eyes and she knew she would never allow someone to lash something to her back. She held the halter in her hand, the shiny metal links that she'd polished til the shone like stars in the night sky clinking softly. She raised a brow at the horse as she took a step towards the beast, while the mare only took one in reverse. Firefly narrowed her eyes at the soul before her and just stood there, staring down the beast to let her know she would never win.
