It was too much to contemplate. Too much to imagine. Already she was unraveling and if he left she would be undone. She would cease to be the person she was and become something else. Something less, something broken and hollow. Savina never wanted to be anything like that, but she didn't have the power to stop it. Her fate was in her brother's hands, and while that never would have caused her pause before, now she quaked with fear at the prospect. It wasn't because she thought he wanted her to suffer, but simply because she understood the power of the love that you had for your children. How it could overpower anything else...even your love for a sister. She didn't want him to not love his children that way, she only hoped that he would find a way and not burn her down to ashes.

The small fey felt that light touch on her shoulders and she leaned into it, scooting closer to her friend, needing the comfort. Savina had never been so lost and afraid before. The only time that even compared had been after her mother's death, and even then she had been in shock and unable to comprehend what the ramifications really were. In this case she was painfully aware of what could happen. She knew what each path could lead to and yet right now everything was encased in the black shadows of doubt. She didn't know what would happen or even when it would. It could be months. Could she go on like this for months? The woman doubted it. Already she felt like her molecules might simply unbind and scatter to the winds. There were too many unknowns and she could not find her way.

Anu's nose pressed against her head and she whimpered, feeling so much like a lost and scared pup. She clung to that contact though, that connection, knowing it was the only thing keeping her together in this moment. Savina tried to nod her head and tried to speak, but the sorrow overwhelmed her again and her eyes poured tears, her body shuddering and shaking with sobs again. She had to try and be hopeful she knew, but she just couldn't find the light.
