Xeris concentrated on the roar of the waves, her eyes closed. She was expecting the rain to come at any moment. The wind was picking up. She could smell the rain, the oncoming storm. The area around her was so entrancing, and it seemed for a moment that nothing else would matter or happen. She was completely distracted until she suddenly heard a voice through the noise of the waves and the wind. Opening her golden eyes, Xeris turned to look down to the source of the familiar voice. It was Pendzez. She smiled, happy to see her mate here. "Pendzez," she said happily. "It's good to see you." She slipped from her perch on the boulder to walk over to him, reaching out her arms to embrace him. She wondered why he was here; perhaps he'd chosen just to take a walk like she had. She had things to talk to him about, but was this the right time? Hopefully the storm wouldn't ruin the situation for them. |
