Xeris smiled, feeling relaxed and happy in her mate's arms. It felt so good to be with him. She remembered the day they had first met, and the day they had become mates; the happy memories made her smile even broader. Pendzez leaned his head back to look at her, and their eyes met for a moment. He asked what she was doing here; well, it was fairly simple really. She'd taken up the habit of going for daily walks along the beaches of the nearby area; it calmed her mind. But she didn't want to tell him that, didn't want him to worry that there was something going on. "Just going for a bit of a walk," she replied. "I love walks on the beach. It's so peaceful here." And it was, even with the storm approaching in the distance. "I'm guessing you had the same idea?" Xeris asked, her happy smile still worn on her face. Perhaps it was fate that had brought the two of them here together again. Or maybe he knew that she'd be around here somewhere. Either way, she was just happy to see him. |
