Xeris looked to the sky, which was clear for what seemed to be the first time in an eternity. She smiled. It was good to see the sun again, as opposed to the grim gray clouds that had been hanging over the land for so long. Her golden eyes matched the hue of the sunlight as it sparkled upon the sand and waves. The white wolfess had chosen to be alone before shifting into her optime form today. Lately she'd been feeling more and more of an urge to stay in her feral lupus form, but for now she would take a break from that.
The gentle waves washed softly over her toes as she looked out over the ocean. Xeris took in the sights and sounds of the day; it was still rather pleasant here on the beach despite the oncoming winter and the colder temperatures. The breeze that was blowing upon her face now brought her a sample of that winter chill that she knew would come soon. Like it or not, the weather was changing. The winds of change were blowing.
Xeris was lost in thought for the moment, thought about the past and future. This would be her first winter at the 'Souls territory...her first winter on her own. It was both a happy and sad thought. It was times like this that the white wolfess wondered about her parents and what they were doing, back at the Retreat that she once called home. But here she had her own new family. Here, she felt safe.
