OOC: 1) Hears attack, sidesteps it 2) as enemy passes him, he makes a swipe for her side
It was as Ty had feared, someone hostile had been on his trail, he could hear the rushed feet splash into the water as they ran for him. Ty had mere seconds to react to the strike, as the pace of the unseen foe was pressing him into a fight. Swirling around to the sound of the water, he caught only the brownish flash of the opponent leaping at his thraot with claws extended, not enough time to identify his attacker.
However, this did give him enough time to avoid the strike. Leaning to one side, the claw passed his face with barely an inch between them as the opponent made her pass. Although surprised and jostled by the ambush, Ty was still a warrior wolf, with enough reaction time to deliver a knee jerk reaction in response to the blow. By sheer muscle memory, Ty raised one arm and made a precise slash at her midsection. His hope was to at least catch her as she flew by him, leaving a mark that could hinder her for the rest of the battle. Hopefully her red blood would be seen flowing along in the river waters, meaning his strike at least landed.
While Ty was at least glad he hadn't been caught by the surprise attack, he couldn't' help but wonder why all the wolves he had met recently had been so aggressive towards him. Was this all part of this strange world? Was this all the design of some madman testing their abilities? He didn't have enough time to think about it though, as he had to focus on his opponent's next move.
