An unlikely series of events

Ty sighed as he continued to wander on his own, by himself, through this endless fog, which seemed like it went on forever, until he came by a riverside. Ty smiled in joy as he finally something else besides an endless field of green, especially something that could help hims survive. Laughing hysterically, he ran over to the river, knelt over it's calm, rippling waters, took a long, refreshing drink while relishing in his arrival. It had felt like days, weeks since he had seen anything besides grass an fog, though he had not tired nor had he begun to become hungry, which had also been odd. So far, nothing had made sense since he found himself here

Ever since he had encountered the so-called "Night Prince" he had been mulling over what exactly was going on, and it was just getting more and more confusing as time went on. At first, Ty had found himself in the middle of a fighter arena, then he had ended up in the middle of nowhere fighting "the Night Prince" a ethereal wolf with amazing supernatural powers, and now he ended up here by a river, none of it seemed to connect at all, in fact, every time Ty turned his head, trees seemed to simply sprout up from the ground, changing his surroundings constantly. At this point, Ty didn't care, he didn't need to care, so much weird stuff had happened lately that his only concern was drinking as much water as he could.

As the water was rushed down his throat, he couldn't help but wonder again about what was going on with him. Was this some twisted form of reality, was this just some strange trip? Had he taken drugs recently? He did not know, perhaps this really was some kind of dream, but that didn't make sense either, he had been hurt in the fights and hadn't woken up. He now began to simply think he was going insane. He sighed again as he helped himself to more water as he mulled over the ideas, death and dreams were getting more far-fetched, so he could only hope that the next person who appeared before him knew more about the situation, and could actually give him some answers.

ooc:

In the darkness, she grope blindly. Slender digits prodding the encroaching darkness for anything…everything…and nothing all the same. She had fallen into this plane before, the one that nearly driven her mad in the waking world. She sought a reason…a need to understand why she was thrown into this dungeon of illusion once more as she wandered, a lost child in search of its dam in the ominous abyss. No longer was it suffocating, no longer did it harm her eyes, for as the darkness settled, she grew used to it, welcomed it as she felt for what was not there.

But how the dreams did favor to give one what they needed. A light, but a sliver in the distance, growing steadily with each step it its direction. The subtle burgling of a river flowing into her ears as she neared, ready…willing to face the light as it washed upon her face and she was rid of the dark again. But how cruel were the dreams as well to give what one did not want. The scent of another, lupine, familiar, drifting into her flared nostrils. The haze of dream obscuring a name from recognition, but as eyes of silver beheld the form, she came to know him. The ginger pelt standing against the smoky white, the crystalline stream of the rive adjacent to her pack mate…opponent.

And to her opponent, her lips splayed apart. The deadly jaws equipped with razor fangs parted their fullest as the rattle of challenge issued from her tensioned throat. Was this all her dreams would consist of now? Fighting? A death waltz to grant her passage into the waking world? How horrible…yet she had come to accept it. The sooner he fell, she sooner she would be granted peace and the passage to a world rid of the illusions and stench of death. The memory of her challenge and her fall still haunted her though there was nothing real to be taken from it. Still…it haunted her.

And this would not.

From her vocals, another snarl emitted, ruining the stillness of the atmosphere as it was heavy with clouds. The groan of the river silenced as well.

As the water was splashed against Ty's face, his ears suddenly perked up to hear a growling noise nearby, causing him to stop drinking and stand perfectly still, waiting to hear the noise again. Sure enough, the noise echoed again, confirming that someone else was indeed there with him, but they might not be friendly. Now rising to his feet, he slowly turned to see if he could spot any movement in the forest that was just made, any sign of an unfriendly hostile coming to bite his throat and send him to his death. So far, he couldn't seethe person, but he knew that it was there.

Getting into a more cautious stance, he began to creep into the river. If an enemy was going to attack him, the best place for him was in an open spot where they would have to pop out before attacking, forcing them to cross a certain distance before being able to hurt Ty, preventing an ambush. The water flowed around his legs as he went in, the cool sensation tingling up his body was simply another emotion Ty was feeling right now. The last two people he had come into contact with were not friendly, he could only imagine his next encounter wouldn't be friendly either, although one could only hope.

Now that Ty was out in the middle of the shallow river, he remained quiet to see if the growling got louder or softer, his body remaining motionless in anticipation. He now tried to smell the air to see if he could get a bead on the person, but what wafted into his nose surprised him. Not only did he recognize the smell, he recognized the smell as friendly. Taking a risk by notifying the enemy of his position, he decided to call out to the unseen person. "Hello?" He called, asking curiously while still keeping a guard.

ooc: 1) rushes forward, slashes blindly.

The call echoed within the land as if enveloped in an enclosed space, though what she saw was nothing of the like. Open, spacious…why in a dream did nothing make sense? Was this the basis of a dream? Ah…but now was not the time to think of such things. There was a task at hand, one she sought to fulfill successfully this time around, should the gods let it be so.

Still, the voice was in her ears. Familiar and though her mind would not give her a name, just an image faint and wavering. She bellowed in response, her jaws spanning their fullest in lust for flesh, so unbecoming and unfamiliar to her. The flicker of ginger in her eyes, she rushed for it, taking flight on large paws and tearing away the soft earth beneath her feet. Slender digits poised to claws rose, reared back with the full arm’s length then swung down with the intent to rend fur from flesh.

OOC: 1) Hears attack, sidesteps it 2) as enemy passes him, he makes a swipe for her side

It was as Ty had feared, someone hostile had been on his trail, he could hear the rushed feet splash into the water as they ran for him. Ty had mere seconds to react to the strike, as the pace of the unseen foe was pressing him into a fight. Swirling around to the sound of the water, he caught only the brownish flash of the opponent leaping at his thraot with claws extended, not enough time to identify his attacker.

However, this did give him enough time to avoid the strike. Leaning to one side, the claw passed his face with barely an inch between them as the opponent made her pass. Although surprised and jostled by the ambush, Ty was still a warrior wolf, with enough reaction time to deliver a knee jerk reaction in response to the blow. By sheer muscle memory, Ty raised one arm and made a precise slash at her midsection. His hope was to at least catch her as she flew by him, leaving a mark that could hinder her for the rest of the battle. Hopefully her red blood would be seen flowing along in the river waters, meaning his strike at least landed.

While Ty was at least glad he hadn't been caught by the surprise attack, he couldn't' help but wonder why all the wolves he had met recently had been so aggressive towards him. Was this all part of this strange world? Was this all the design of some madman testing their abilities? He didn't have enough time to think about it though, as he had to focus on his opponent's next move.
