private - delwyn and possibly pendzez?

The clouds above were in the process of clearing, at least for the moment. Every now and then a few patches of sunlight shone through onto the pale sand below. Xeris was reclining beneath the shade of one of the few trees that dotted the Quartz Shoreline, watching Carwyn and Xion with her sharp golden eyes. The two pups were splashing about in the shallow water, their little paws covered in sand and salt water, and their laughter sounding loudly across the beach.

"Where is your brother...?" Xeris murmured to herself quietly. Delwyn had taken to wandering about on his own more and more often. Naturally, Xeris was worried about him most of the time. But at the same time, she trusted him. He had Pendzez's genes in him, and the brave heart of a warrior; perhaps he'd be a bit tougher than most pups his age. Xeris closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the tree for a moment. It was then that she began to think and reminisce. It hadn't been too far from this spot that she'd first met Pendzez. A smile crossed her face momentarily. That had been almost a year ago. So much had changed since then...

Delwyn was snapping his small, but growing, jaws at some noisy spring-beetles. He had just ducked out of sight from his mother, yet again. There was a unique thrill that Delwyn felt from exploration, and with every day he was proving that he was poor at staying put. His incredibly high-energy personality wasn't dimming, even as he grew. He still couldn't sit still for particularly long, although his self control was improving. But today he was enjoying his time with his mother, and he didn't want to wander off. When he heard his brother and sister playing in the shallows, he came bounding over through the scrub, and leapt in to the water.

The weather was apparantly unable to make up its mind. Rays of sun were poking through the clouds even as rain started to pick up. Delwyn and his siblings were already soaked, and weren't particularly bothered by the rain. The energetic little pup emerged from the water, tail wagging and panting. "Do you want to come swimming with us, mama?" he said to his mother, Xeris. The pup noticed she was reclining against the tree with her eyes closed. "What are you doing? Are you sleeping?

Pendzez came down from the north end of the beach. He had noticed that some days were getting warmer, the rain was become less frequent and that the sun was going to be out more. He remembered when he met Xeris. This beach was the place that the two have met. From that day, Pendzez had grown to love her, the same for Xeris about him. Now, the two were mates and have three beautiful pups. They were blessings to the two.

Going further down along the sandy ground, he heard the sound of laughter, like children were playing. He had heard those sounds before, the laughter of his children. Coming into sight was two of his offspring in shallow water and Xeris with Delwyn on the beach. Again, the two were on the beach where they met on this spring day. "Xeris. Delwyn. Having fun, are we?"

ooc: sorry for the wait...

Xeris continued to rest her eyes and take in the sun and the warm sand. The splashing of her children at play was comforting to her, knowing that they were enjoying themselves. She barely noticed the extra splashed that began to appear after a while, not even realizing that her other son had arrived until he approached her. Opening her yellow eyes, she looked down at him and smiled. He was quite wet and sandy, but appeared to be in a good mood. "Ah, there you are," she replied. "No, I'm not asleep. Just resting. Wondering where my naughty little son went." The smile on her face widened at this comment.

It was then that Pendzez arrived, and she looked up at him pleasantly. "Hello Pendzez," the white wolfess said. "Yes, it's a lovely day." By now Delwyn's siblings had come bounding out of the water to greet their father. "Dad! Hi dad!" Carwyn said, his tail wagging wildly. Xion came after him, smiling broadly at her father. And Xeris smiled too. The family was all together on a great day. These were happy times.

The spastic puppy shook himself off excitedly, sending sand and water flying in all directions. He puffed up his diminutive chest proudly and proclaimed to his mother: "I was right over there, Mama," as he cocked his head towards a nearby tree, "I didn't wander off at all!" It was a somewhat damning fact that the puppy was aware that he was being naughty when he wandered off without his parents permission, but such is the nature of youth. For the time, he knew better than to wander out of Phoenix Valley, and as such, he was safe enough.

Delwyn, like his siblings, was overjoyed to see his father arive. The young pup had the early signs of developing a warrior's body. His frame was becoming lean from all his excersize, and he had the early signs of someday having a powerful barrel chest. For now, of course, these were just subtle hints appearing in an perfectly normal growing pup: a pup who loved to play and explore. "Good morning, papa!" Delwyn cheered, "Do you want to go swimming with mama and me?"

The whole family was here. It seemed such a great thing. He looked to his kids. Delwyn, Carwyn, and Xion were to their father, bringing their smiles along. He smiled in return. Delwyn gave his greeting with pure excitement and a question. "A swim, you say? Well, I could do with a dip." he said smiling at his son, feeling happy to join his children in a swim.

He looked over to Xeris, who sat on the sand looking up, smiling, at her mate. "It is a lovely day, my dear." He then looked out to the ocean. He heard the sound it was making, a tranquility of the water's music. The spirits were blessing the family through this scene. They were always watching. "This tranquility is a blessing. The spirits are providing us this day." he said as he looked back to Xeris with a smile.

ooc: short post is short <_<

Xeris grinned, but remained silent for a moment. Closing her eyes again, she shifted into her lupus form; her limbs shortening and spine changing shape. Once this was finished, she looked to her children, still grinning childishly, and then suddenly darted forward to tap Carwyn on the leg. "Tag! You're it!" And with that, she darted off, splashing into the water with her son and daughter chasing after her. Carwyn caught up with his sister after a moment, pouncing on her tail and shouting that she was "it."

Xion, giggling, ran back over toward Delwyn, and reached out her paw to tag him. "You're it, Del!" Xeris smiled again from her position in the cool water, enjoying its feeling against her fur. What a beautiful morning, she thought. Just her and her family together. It was perfect. She couldn't think of anything else that she wanted to do today.
