Lotus was out doing what he usually did, wandering around the lands that belonged to AniWaya. He couldn’t really be expected to sit at home the whole time now could he? That certainly wouldn’t be any fun at all. How was he supposed to know his way around if he didn’t get out? He certainly couldn’t be expected to learn and get life experiences without getting out and about every so often. He had to meet others as well. He couldn’t be a little hermit or anything of the like. Besides, his Mommy was a leader. He had to make her proud by getting out and knowing what was going on. Not that he really knew what was going on since he was away from the tribe currently.
The boy found himself along the creek. The sound filling the air in the area was soft and soothing. At least until a cry sounded out. It wasn’t a harsh one but something of a quieter sort. Still it was enough to perk the boy’s ears and have him looking around for the source of it. It was a sound that stuck out in an area were the sounds were those of tranquility. So as the sound came again he twitched an ear in the direction of it and his little paws followed suit. It was a sound that he had never heard before. But with as young as he is it isn’t all that surprising.
Eventually he came to the source of the sound. It was there, stuck in the mud at the bank of the creek. There was a small amount of yellow peeking through the white of the cracked egg. Lotus tilted his head as he watched what was going on, not exactly what was happening. The cries that had drawn him over were getting quieter and the shaking and struggle of the chick were dieing down as well. “Mommy! Mommy!” He found himself calling out before he realized that he had wandered away by himself. A paw reached out to touch the egg lightly only to have it tremble slightly.
