OOC: That’s no problem at all, I’m afraid I’m going to be posting short ones for a lil bit ; ;

He listened to her feeling happy absolutely happy, he didn’t think he felt this good since his father taught him how to hunt. He worked hard on what she told him to do, making it so that it was wide enough for his fingers. They tested it, letting her fold the leather over his finger to make sure that it was the way it should be, and once she seemed satisfied with the first one he started on the second. He wasn’t sure how many of these he was to make. He looked up at his new friend and right now mentor

How many of these are we suppose to do

He asked curiously. He’d finished tracing the the pattern around the already cut one and started cutting that too. It dealt with a lot of hand eye coordination, something Niro had spare of. He concentrated on cutting the piece of leather so that it was good enough to use, it was hard to do anything else even think so he hoped she’d answer when he was done with the task. Once he finished that he looked at it, it was well enough done to where he knew it would surely work it was as big as the other piece and admired it for a bit before looking to Anann for the next step in the process. He was confident that he’d get this down quite easy, although there was still quite a bit more left to do before they were finished.

Anann can help him sew them together or she can loan Niro the stuff to take it home and finish it. Up to you! ^^

Anann smiled as she watched the young man work. She admired his determination and enthusiasm. His dreams of training birds was a big one, but she reckoned he had enough grit, she just hoped he had the patients for the task as well. He certainly knew how to work with his hands. Those not used tasked could easily let the blade slip, mis-cutting the leather. His lines were straight and true. Her sharp blade cutting cleanly through the leather. She could read the care and concentration clearly on his features as he focused on his task. Once he had cut the second pattern she addressed his question. "The the last piece like those, But you still need to cut the leather for both thumbs and the cuffs as well. Sewing it all together will take the longest."

"When we cut the hole for the thumb, We need to make sure that it just slightly above the mark you made wrist and slightly off center. You'll want the smooth side of the leather to be the outside of the gloves so we need to make sure that we make a left and a right glove and not two of the same." She took both pieces he had cut and folded them in half so they resembled the gloves they would eventually make. "The thumb will be cut next to the fold, but more towards the palm than the back of the hand. That why it wont pull when you bend your thumb inwards, see." It could be difficult for some to visualize the finished product, but she hoped she was explaining it clear enough for him. She traced the hole for the first thumb, leaving a triangular tab at the top of the hole. "That will help to prevent ripping out the seam between the thumb and first finger and its better to cut the hole a little small the first time, it can always be made slightly big if needed later." She explained. Watching as he marked the other and being sure it was opposite to hers.

Using some of the smaller scraps she had they cut out pieces for the thumbs as well. Making sure, just like everything else, that they were big enough. Finally the cut the cuffs and Anann folded up the remaining scraps of her leather and tucked them back in the bag. Sheathing her little blade when Niro was done with it. "Now we can start stitching this all together. I usually start with the main body of the glove. Then add the thumb and save the cuffs for last." She explained as she threaded a needle with the thin cord. Once that was done she stuck the needle into the spool until she was ready for it. Pulling out a little pouch full of straight pins, many were bent and bowed from use in the thick hides. "It will help to use these to make sure your seems stay straight. Just pin the leather together like so." She demonstrated pining the leather together so that it fingers would all lay straight and match up properly. "Its not necessary, but I find that it helps a lot. Have you ever done anything stitching or sewing?"

OOC: Well whichever works for you, I think your next post would be a good end to the thread at least Smile

Niro mimicked Anann’s every move, he had to be corrected only slightly at the start because he was trying to do it the same exact way but he was suppose to be doing it opposite because it was for the other hand, he got the hang of it though. This was actually fun, time consuming, but well worth it in the end he was sure. After finishing the cuff piece he sat his materials on the ground to watch his new friend pull out a needle and cord and some small pins he listened as she explained what she was doing.

I have sewed before but this, this sure would make it a whole lot easier

He said pointing to the pins she used to keep the leather on straight temporarily, no wonder he’d seen better sewing than his, they had secrets that he never could have imagined, wow how enlightening it was to see something he knew already put easier, that made him think about some of the things he was doing that he could make a little easier. He smiled at his new friend knowing that she just gave him much more in a lesson than just making leather and putting it together, of course that’s one thing she did for him, but deep down he could feel that she just taught him that there could be things that would make life easier if you just put a pin in the perfect spot. He took a few pins and mimicked her think this was what it was like to be one of the first wolves to use a wheel. It was so enlightening, and now he thought if something like this could be made… maybe he could make something else that would help life be easier for the wolves.

Short to wrap it up =) Feel free to have it archived after you've read

She handed Niro the needle she had already prepared. Then got a second one started for herself. She showed him how she liked to space the stitches and keeping them close to the edge of the leather so there wasn't a large seam that would wear blisters on his hands. Otherwise it was pretty simple and straight forward. "Yea the pins help quite a bit. I'm glad to help." She smiled softly. Focusing mostly on the needlework as they sat. Small chatter feeling the silences between them as they worked.

They hadn't finished them, but Anann was sure that Niro wouldn't have any problems from here on out. And if he did he was more than welcome to seek her out. She could be found at the stables most mornings and she was planning to build her cabin just north of the stables near the streams. She packed him a little pouch with a few straight pins and a couple needles. She spooled off enough cord that he should have no trouble finishing his gloves. She went back inside to grab another pouch that would hold the gloves and all so he wouldn't risk loosing anything before they were complete. "Here, you're welcome to keep it all. I'm sure we can arrange payment later. It time I tend to the horses for the evening though. Hope to see you again Niro." She smiled as she handed him the items. She hoped to be reimbursed with some falconry lessons when the time came.
