It had been boring. The days she had spent playing around her mother and father were colorless. They had ordered her close while she was “infected” but the female discarded the offensive word. She preferred enlightened or bled with magic. The unfamiliarity of it all was exhilarating. Over the past week the silver female had hunted and rolled in the grass before the house over the watchful eye of Ayita and Vigilante. Feeling fine, the young girl had not reported she was feeling odd in any way as she was told to. Deep down though, something stirred uneasily.

Every morning she woke up to find the ceiling of the building, nerves twisted Ever’s stomach until the knots created needed to be loosened immediately. She tried to forget, reassuring her mind that all was normal and no signs would show up for days, but that didn’t stop the dreams and fantasies. Multiple times her adopted parents had caught her mindlessly staring out the window or at an abnormally long strand of grass, daydreaming. Sometimes her new luperci body in her mind’s eye was strong and beautiful, a true hero of a figure. But more than once had the thoughts darkened into a wild eyed, villain, unable to control her new body. The dreams were the unbearable things.

Her body quivered with fear and anxiety until her shaking woke herself up. The silver pelted girl hardly ever dreamed unless a thought bothered her terribly. These nights brought misery. It came in probing waves, raking her vulnerable body until she stood and lay in the refreshing moonlight from the window. When morning came, Ever crept back onto her bed of downy blankets. The female did this only because she was afraid her family would find her and worry. She hated being fussed upon, which seemed to be happening more these days, but the wolf could not control her anxiety.

This morning was brighter than usual even though shreds of clouds progressed across the blue sky. A stimulating breeze swept across the land and between the reddish brown ears of the female. She was crouched, her grey eyes shimmering like sunlight on silver. A bunny was bathing itself on the edge of the forest, swiping it’s brown paws across it’s face. The wolf admired it for a moment longer before springing. Flying through the air, tongue wiping, the silver girl suddenly landed in front of the rabbit. She screeched an odd strangled howl and the startled brown prey squeaked in mid jump and took off.

Ever laughed, having no intention of killing the hare but enjoying the fear she gave it. Normally she would feel bad giving the small animal such a surprise, but this particular bunny had come to where the grass meets the forest floor numerous times. The female couldn’t find out why but she didn’t mind. Almost immediately after the rabbit had fled, had Ever’s stomach shifted. It was an odd feeling, but the girl fell to the grass in pain. The house in which her parents were in were only a short distance away, so she called, but the call was cut off by a choking sound she realized was her own. Suddenly, the lessons Ayita had taught her came clear. Relax … want the change. Fall under. It was easier than the silver furred wolf had thought. Closing her eyes, she relaxed. But her heartbeat raced for the sky again as she heard a crack of a bone. Positive it was a rib, the female cried out; waiting for the pain, but none came. This must be the change. Ever thought, looking over towards the house for movement. She couldn’t dare call out now for fear strangled her throat, barely letting air through.

Swiftly, silver fur began to quiver and bled with reddish strands and swivel into waves. Her pelt lengthened and curled into beautiful swirls. A strange itching came from the female’s head and the hair grew rapidly, a rich amber or golden red. This fur was also grew in elegantly crafted curls. It began to consume most of Ever’s head and finally stopped bellow her chest. Interested, the female clawed at the long strand, unbelieving that this much hair had come from between her ears. Gasping, the female dropped the hair from her paws … or fingers. Inspecting the black furred hands, the female knew there was no going back from here.

Finally the transformation was complete, but instead on running home as Ever wished to do. She sank to her knees and stared at the grass; taking in the feeling of her knew body.

Amaranth was walking back home a beautiful aging cat draped on her shoulders. She was tired the female who now lived with them was up each night since her mother blessed her with the gift that they all head. She smiled as she walked up seeing the young girl begin to cripple. The change caused slight discomfort for those who weren't used to it. those who were not born with it often had a hard time controling the change.

The red, withe and brown female stood leaning against a tree. She watched not offering a word or calling for her parents who were so close. She didn't care she wanted to see how the girl would handle it. She bet the stubbern girl would handle it fine. She smiled as the girl knelt there taking in the change.

Amaranth laughed a bit she had done nothing to the girl till now laughing at her. Neko hopped off her shoulder and circled the girl. The girl seemed so out of it.

How does it feel can you feel the power you have can you feel the blood of my mother coursing through you. This is the power of our kind. Be blessed that you have joined us. My mother gave you a gift a wonderful gift. She said smiling as she bent down. Lets see if she can hold herself together or crack under pressure.

She knelt stiffly, one hand against the shaded grass and the other tangling in the abundance of curls on her shoulder. Clouded grey eyes stared at nothing, but looked on blankly into the forest. She did not notice the cat. She did not notice Amaranth until she spoke, shattering her trance. The smile her step sister had provided was more of a smug, though she struggled to keep it comforting. Ever returned the look with a cold stare.

Amaranth had not been her favorite person since she was living with Vigilante and Ayita. She was even positive that she was not her favorite either. It was obvious that the Catori did not want her staying there and both wolves had done little to improve their relationship. Ever was surprised she even approached. Even Ayita’s brother, Zafier, was not as much of a bother as Amaranth.

Listening gruffly to the other female’s words, the silver wolf thought hard about what it ment. She was still in a daze as she stood on black legs. Her body was shaky but she concentrated hard on hiding the fact she was disoriented, not giving Amaranth another chance to humiliate her. Looking down at her feet, Ever smiled inwardly to find the flaw of still having larger than normal paws. The disfigurement proved to the female that she was still herself.

Indeed it is a blessing, Ever replied to her step sister, acid burning lightly on her words. She flicked back her red curls, already enjoying the experience of her meandering hair. And it feels great. Finishing the statement, the silver girl smiled.

Neko looked at the girl with his intense golden orbs. The cat snickered in his cat like way. He fed off of how his partner he could tell she thought this was funny. Though she also didn't feel as though she was liking this. Her mother had given her blood to an adopted pup, giving the girl a gift that she didn't deserve. Those not born this way should not get the pleasures this girl had received.

I don't see why my mother offered to bless you with this gift. You better learn to control it. Though for you it will be harder." She said laughing at her. She walked closer to the girl bending down. "I'll play nice come on let me help you up because everybody deserves a helping hand. She said. She held out her hand giving an honest smile. She knew that everyone deserved the chance to learn how to handle this.

Amaranth wouldn't normally do this but she slept and ate with the girl and her parents were home if they caught her bulling the girl she'd be in trouble. She only hoped that the girl would understand. She may not love this girl but she had to give her a fighting chance. She had to teach her so that later she wouldn't feel bad. Neko looked at her he was so lost to what she was doing.

It was bittersweet advice that the girl had no choice to take. Amaranth offered her a hand and Ever hesitated. She had yet to figure out the ways of the strawberry female. But her head spun with uneasiness and she accepted, using her help to balance. Standing on two legs and able to balance, even in a shaky way, astounded the storm cloud pelted girl. She didn’t know if she and Ayita’s daughter would ever get along, but neither of them seemed to take a step to change it until now.

Thanks,” Ever mumbled as she flexed the thick blades of grass between her toes. She was feeling tall and accepting now, finally able to look her stepsister in the eye. The breeze disheveled the two female’s fur, so different in color, and brought the sweet scent of wild flowers.

Amaranth gave a smile. So sister are you scared? scared of monsters or me? Is that why you don't speak to me? Amaranth asked as she looked at the girl she looked so shaky and pathetic. Amaranth could knock her over and it wouldn't be hard. She was waiting to see her walk. Walking wasn't a skill that was poof you know it it took some balancing. But she figured the girl would handle it fine.
